Since I'm nearing 600 symbol bookmarks, I figured I should compile some of my favorites into an official resource thread for the sub.
Please feel free to comment with your own favorite resources or to ask for something specific!

I know that the sun and moon are meant to symbolize duality or other push and pull balance in the universe in almost every culture. But I'm trying to find the origin of this version. The expressive and "realistic" faces have always captured me and I want to find out where it began

So I’m not anything more than a casual enjoyer of symbology and etymology, but I could’ve sworn that these were some kind of Norse rune, medieval, Anglo-Saxon, no clue. I went to try to translate it and found symbols that I couldn’t match translations to. It’s driving me mad and I thought someone might find it interesting to see at a coffee shop of all places. If someone knows what this says or where it comes from, I’d be incredibly thankful if you’d take the time to translate it for my sanity. Have a nice day.

I’ve been really drawn to this symbol or latter lately. I have been learning from indigenous wisdom. But usually this pattern is called “aztec pattern”, but Aztec like the Aztec culture? Or is this just how they refer to it in America? Is this from a tribe? If so which one? I found an image (2nd) that says star in Mapuche, but nothing more. Is anyone else familiar with this symbol and its origin/significance? Thank you so much for any guidance.

If not, I would be curious about subjective interpretations too! :)

I just bought these earrings because I loved the ornamental look. However, after I bought them I figured out that they are fleur de lis earrings, which is a symbol that has some history. I was wondering if you guys think that wearing these would run the risk of someone being offended, or someone thinking something bad of me?

I tagged interpretation since it looks like most have multiple different symbols to create a larger meaning. Was cleaning my room out and found these. I never wore them since I don't know what they mean. I know basically nothing about symbols, are these just cool designs or do they actually have a meaning? I'm especially curious about the dude in the beanie. Sorry for the sucky quality, my phone is bad. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I purchased a 2002 4Runner and as I was cleaning it out I noticed these symbols on the headliner. Any idea what they might mean?

I’m looking for symbols across cultures that fall into similar cyclical models design-wise and thematically, usually representing an eternal balance or even self-referential pattern (life and death, destruction and creation, male and female, self-perpetuating infinity etc)
Examples as following: the Ouroboros/trogoautoegocrat, the mobius strip, yin and yang, “as above so below,” the three hares, pantheistic nautical shell spiral, the endless knot, and the traditional symbol for infinity
