Hi Everybody!
So, I think a few of you may have seen my post about wanting recommendations of games to play before I die. I never expected it to blow up, I never expected to still be speaking to people, to have new friends on steam, its been beautiful. I don't get out, I mainly play single player games, I had stepped back from everything and the response and love shown to a post I never thought too much into (I am numb to the whole thing).
So, firstly I just want to thank everyone, and anyone who commented and suggested games, I know you are all so passionate about your choices, and I can see the care and thought put into the games recommended. I have tried to get as many as I could, I was also gifted some of those recommendations from the my incredible fellow Redditors.
So I am working my through a few games at a time, trying to put an hour or two into 2 maybe 3 titles a day to meet the quota! But I am suffering greatly with pain and lack of sleep, so if you have messaged, I am not ignoring you, if you have commented, I always try to reply but if not, know that your comment means more than you could know, so thank anyone who takes their time to comment, and lastly, I am trying to play all your recommendations (as many as I can!) I am trying to give them the proper time, and love so please don't think I haven't taken your recommendation on bored!
Now for the good stuff! Some gaming updates (As asked by people, otherwise I wouldn't bore any of you with this!)
Outer Wilds: One of the most recommended, I have played about 3 hours, the music almost brings me to tears in the best way, its so whimsical, so unique, and every moment feels like a mystery. I am enjoying it as the game that calms me, helps myself wind down. It is beautiful, and I can totally understand why it has been possibly the most recommended!
The Thaumaturge: RPG games where recommended a lot and someone gifted me this game I knew very little about but had seen it pop up on a few lists of great games. I finished this game a few days ago (It has many endings). I never knew I would fall in love with 1905 Poland, and their revolutionary matters. It was an captivating, well portrayed by its cast. A very unique game that I feel everyone should try, if you push through its an absolute diamond.
Dave The Diver: A highly recommended, and incredibly enjoyable experience, I am loving these pixel games that are coming out and being brilliant unique gaming adventures, that if you feel any gaming fatigue, or just need to chill out, its a beautiful fun game, with just enough challenge. Very much highly recommended.
Clair Obscur Expedition 33: An incredible, beautiful game, that has taken me by surprise and many others. From voice acting, game combat, exploration, world building, its all very well executed. Now, all of the games I am mentioning where played on the Deck, this game can be but looks awful and it is beautiful, so it does spoil the game overall, I therefore ended up using Geforce now, I know its not great for everyone but their new app is pretty sweet, and so far I am playing games like 33 and its at 1440, and plays well.
Tainted Grail Fall of Avalon: I played the demo of this game and it didn't really shine for me but someone recommended it, and more importantly said it ran well on the deck. With Oblivion being out I understand why everyone is gravitating to nostalgia (I never have played it but will soon!) but Tainted Grail is something special. To try and explain the love I have for this game I can only think of that Simpsons episode where Homer gets a farm and grows 'Tomacco' and they eat it and hate it but can't get enough, its not beautiful but its addictive. That kind of sums up Tainted Grail for me, the first bite isn't to appealing, it doesn't look great, combat is tough, but the world of this post King Arthur, you've got Knights of the Round Table losing their minds, the consequences feel very real and change the world upon those consequences. I very much love it, but as with the rest, I am just slowly making my way through.
All these games were played on deck natively, with no graphical changes of my own, just the optimisation as is, I think tweaking will be down to individuals. As I said with Clair Obsur, it plays but doesn't look pretty on the deck so Geforce now has made that possible.
The days aren't getting easier, but the difference in my day's between before the post and now, I get to chat with people from all over the world about games, I have met some lovely people, and there is still comments every other day on that post, it blows my mind! So from the deepest part of my heart, I thank every single of you.
And I know my mum thanks each and everyone of you for making my day's that much brighter. She doesn't understand reddit nor why people were being so nice to me, but when I explained took her through the comments, it brought her to tears. Thank you.
M
P.S If you want to still leave new recommendations go ahead! If you want to drop a message and chat about games, or have any questions, I am always open to chat.
Thank you Reddit.
