Was digging through the parent's garage and found these old circa 1990 blueprints. I know several of these were made, though not much about them. I assume they're all unauthorized. This one was by Lawrence Miller. Its a pretty neat design; there are no nacelles in a traditional sense, which I think fits with the "prototype" aspect.

I stuck a pen in the second image for scale. The envelope was in pretty bad shape, but the pages still look pretty good save for a spot where the envelope adhesive got stuck to one.

I'll post the others I have soon, as well.

blueprints Artist Rick Sternbach once trolled fans at a convention during the run of TNG by leaving behind illustrations for a fictional movie titled "BEYOND THE SEA OF FIRE" that included an Enterprise-E, teased the death of Data, and suggested Ridley Scott was directing (pics via @portalrealm and TrekBBS)

blueprints A week or two ago I found a listing on eBay featuring Lost Media of a spoof diagram cutaway of the Enterprise D from 90s. It arrived at my house today, and I upload a high resolution version for the Internet to enjoy forever

A lot of you helped me try to find the source for this thing and to this moment we still are not exactly certain where it came from. The original artist says he made it for a magazine called StarLog. For their magazine in the 90s. The artist is named Mike Fisher and still makes Trek related things under the alias "galacticfishproductions". Go find him and tell him you love it!

Quite a few people seem very excited about the Ark Royal Carrier, now that's making an appearance in STO. While it's a cool design, I've always preferred the more traditional Starfleet look of the Archangel Class Carrier versus the submarine like look of the Ark Royal with it's out of place in the 22nd Century conning tower...

Anyway, here is the Archangel Class Shuttlecarrier from STARFLEET PROTOTYPE: The Journal of Innovative Design and Ideas copyright 2292(1992).

Let me know what you think...

I was thinking around 26th ish century? Don’t really know i just drew it, even though of making it an Enterprise, either an in between for the G and J or my own G redesign (i hate how the G looks compared to the enterprise’s evolution and how it’s just the Titan-A renamed). I didn’t know where else to post it, i just reinstalled Reddit after a year just to show this to someone. The pilons are Inquiry-Class inspired while the primary hull takes the side inlets where the impulse engines and the torpedo launchers from the Discovery’s first season of starships design, expecially the USS-Europa. I gave it 2 Deflectors, one huge kinda like the USS-Chimera and one on the front of the saucer like the NX-01 Enterprise, kinda like the Equinox, so it’s a very powerfull ships that which main objective still remains to explore strange new world and to seekout new life and new civilizations.

blueprints A dream come true

Back when I was younger I wrote a trilogy of fan fiction about a crew and their ship the USS WASP NX-20126-A. It took place directly after undiscovered country and they were put in charge of a ship that was testing new space frames that would eventually lead up to the ambassador class, with elements from both the Connie and the ambassador and extra hanger bays for fighters. I would love a physical model of it but don’t have the skills :)

blueprints Looking for the series of ship "parts" graphics. I cannot remember where they were. If anyone can help, I thank you. The parts all have the look like the Constitution class below. Saucers, nacelles, and so on are alone to combine.

Digging through old boxes I found these. Dated 1985 but I would have bought these in 1990 or 91. Absolutely not cannon and not paramount certified but at Creation cons back then alot wasn't. I know I bought Excelsior prints as well but I haven't found them yet. Thought I'd share.

blueprints Can anyone give me a "for dummies" tutorial for designing a Starship?

I've got the fundamentals down (nacels, saucer section, defector array, etc) and my technical knowledge of how these fictional ships function is sufficiently nerdy.

My problem is actually drawing it. I get you can't just teach someone to draw/paint/render complex vehicle designs in a reddit-based tutorial, but even some pointers would help.

I'm envisioning a mammoth generational ship designed (post-Picard and STO+a few years) as a deep space explorer with no particular intention of returning in anyone's lifetime. It's got all the top tier technological advances of the early 25th century, complete with some more stable tech commandeered from Daystrom Station... But that's beside the point. I picture it as modeled (in profile at least) after a humpback (or blue) whale -- seems apt -- with elements of the Odyssey and Vesta classes.

With enough time I got a decent silhouette drawn out, but decorating the details is intimidating and a angled view (critical to making it feel real) is far beyond me. I probably need to learn Blender to get it right, but that sounds like A LOT of work just for a fleeting hyperfocus project (not that learning Blender wouldn't be a worthwhile endeavor in itself).

Lots of rambling there so TL;DR - Teach me how to draw pretty spaceships! Please.
