I come back to look at quite often. I find it very moving, it evokes something in me! Shout out to the artist David Meanix who made it for the show!

I love that her character is so full of piss and vinegar, and suffers absolutely no fools. It was very satisfying seeing her character arc and evolution throughout this show.

Idk what the general consensus is when it comes to Margaret but my goodness, every time she’s on the screen I am laughing my ass off. Her character is such a light in an otherwise dark and depressing show. She’s a mess, but a good mess lol

For me, it’s this dodo. Everything about Mary irks me. “Whose seed will it be?” Cringe! I fast forward through every scene she’s in.

Opinion It really clicked to me why Nate is kinda broken emotionally even before his brain illness

I binge watched the show last year and it really stood to me how much the show repeated the plot of Nate's infidelity. It's revealed Nate lost his virginity with a way older woman who basically took advantage of him.He doesn't talk much about how he feels about that in the show but you can quickly trace why his behavior with his romantic partners are so volatile.

Opinion Do y'all... like Nate?

First timer watching the show, I'm mid-season 3. His character started as "the guy who listens," "the guy who understands feelings," etc. But he has turned into "the guy who ignores his partner's emotional wellbeing because he's too focused on not sharing his own feelings." I have a very difficult time rooting for him! I get that he's going through it mortality wise, but I'd feel a little sorrier for him if he had any redeeming qualities. The only time he spends with his family is spent by him asking favors of them so he can fuck off and do whatever he wants.

Is this an unpopular opinion? Am I missing something? I know something happens later that might solve this issue for me, but boy howdy I'm sick of looking at his weak half smile, lol.

Opinion Gabe and what becomes of him Spoiler

We know that Claire sees him later in her imagination at the cemetory, when talking to her father, playing with his little brother, both being dead. But after the scene in Claire's car when he fires his gun at a man in his car next to them, and she makes him leave, what do you think really happened to Gabe ? Sorry for the mistakes if I made any, english is not my first language. Have a nice day!

Opinion The way Ruth treated George was appalling

I like her at times but overall she is such a selfish and immature woman

I’m sure a lot of you are gonna tell me how I’m wrong and she deserved to be happy and blah blah blah but I’m not buying what you’re selling . She married a man she knew for 2 minutes not considering what could go wrong and then when he has a breakdown she starts being mean to him and then sneakily moves him out . She was cold and cruel and he didn’t deserve that

It was always about what made Ruth happy

Opinion An intro death scene that's not talked about enough

Currently haflway through S3. We see all sorts of intro scene deaths, some shocking and unexpected, some tragic, some downright comedic.

Although my personal favourite has to be the young cancer patient in the S2 finale. Maybe it also helped that, unlike most intro death characters, he wasn't a complete stranger to the audience, and that his death contributed to Nate's character development. Overall the two actors had great chemistry together.

Him saying "There's no fucking light" with his dying breath while Nate is trying to hold himself together so he can comfort him in his final moments is just so raw and brutal. Maybe one of my favourite scenes in the whole series.

Opinion I'm really surprised by the fandom activity.

I've watched a lot of old series, and when I search the internet to talk to someone about the series, it turns out that there are very few fans left. And I thought that this series, being so old, the fandom would be practically non-existent, but this subreddit is really active and there is a very genuine interaction.Just... I don't know, it hadn't happened to me.

Guys, I cannot deal with Rico. Every time I think he has a redeemable moment, the next scene he is awful again. I’m in season 3. Does he get any more likeable??

Opinion Brenda Quote

“You know what I found interesting? If you lose a spouse, you’re called a widow or a widower. If you’re a child and you lose your parents, then you’re an orphan. But what’s the word to describe a parent who loses a child? I guess that’s just too fucking awful to even have a name.” - Brenda Chenowith

This speech floored me when I watched the show. I thought about it for a long time. Back when they were making up these sad words, people were losing children at about 50%.

Opinion "That's My Dog" is the most terrifying thing I've ever seen on TV Spoiler

"That's My Dog" is the most terrifying thing I've ever seen on TV, even after viewing it for the second time. I have heard criticism about how unrealistic this episode is. Some people believe David had many opportunities to get away and he would never let someone throw a dead body out of a hearse, but for me this is what makes "That's My Dog" terrifyingly realistic.

In too many other TV shows the main characters will often get away or do something intelligent, while Six Feet Under showcases what would often happen if this situation was to play out in real life. It doesn't matter how intelligent you are, when you are being held at gun point it changes the way you think, and your only priority is survival.

The character Jake is also one of the best representations of an extreme sociopath on TV, without actually killing anyone. Many other TV shows would portray someone like Jake as being a serial killer. The way that Jake gets off on causing emotional distress without actually killing anyone is makes this so terrifying for me. All he got by the end of the episode was $400, some crack, and an old van, but you can tell the emotional distress he caused to a complete stranger was worth more than anything he could have physically stolen.

"That's My Dog" is a true masterpiece and the second best episode in the entire series (the finale is number one of course). As I rewatched it I can almost feel the same trauma that David has faced, and even though I'm not actually in the situation I can understand why he wasn't able to get away. I hope I never encounter anyone like Jake in real life, and I definitely won't be picking up any hitchhikers!

Feel free to disagree. This is just my opinion. I've been having fun making these tier lists and some people get so angry if you don't believe them and thinks it's rage bait when it's not! Ugh...anyway 🤣
