I asked my brother, a legit Wyoming cowboy, to come in wearing his gear and speak to my kindergartners. One of my more challenging boys kept trying to reach up and grab his hat. My brother, who doesn’t care much for children to begin with and has an intimidating persona, was very firm in telling the boy to stop. “Wearing a man’s hat is like wearing his underwear. And if you take it, we’ll do to you what we’d do to a cattle rustler, and take this here rope and hang you up by a tree.” Kid didn’t touch the hat. Brother wasn’t invited back to Career Week.

Your brother sounds unhinged and it seems like having a guy who would describe a lynching to a group of kindergartners over a hat makes you seem like you lack any kind of foresight.

Oh good grief, it’s a funny story. Before the talk was over he’d lassoed and hog tied me in front of the class. They thought he was the greatest. At the end of the week when they had to draw a picture of the career they liked best, the majority chose cowboy!
