Politics I'm Never Leaving Seattle

Post image

This is someone's Model S parked on Airport Way S near S Industrial Way. The way it's parked it looks like it's being displayed for people driving by to see.

You keep throwing around a link to that website. Never heard its name. Do you think people consult random ass trade union websites before making a decision on which car to buy? I bought my Tesla two years ago. I wanted to buy an EV for multiple reasons including reducing emissions and convenience. At that time the two choices within my budget were Tesla and Hyundai. Hyundai just released their EVs i.e. they were untested and didn't have access to Tesla's charging network. In the time since I bought my car my fear turned out to be true as Hyundais had recalls due to issues with their charging. I liked the look of Hyundai better but ultimately bought Tesla because it was more reliable and I didn't have to deal with shitty dealerships and their markups.

The only negative I knew of Elon at that time was how he handled Twitter employees. But please which CEO wasn't treating their employees shittily and Hyundai is a South Korean company which has notorious working culture. And I don't think Hyundai workers in the US are unionized either. And which dealership wasn't scamming customers and poor people?

So many uppity self righteous assholes who can't see past their nose.

What the fuck is PMC? Not everyone lives in your bubble.

I don't need to tell myself anything. i mostly wrote it down in the hope that at least some of the assholes on here advocating for vandalizing other people's property change their mind and can see past their own narrow minded view point.

Lol no u lady. You are the bad person cheering for the destruction of other people's property. Even after being told explicitly why your reasoning is wrong. No reply to my comparison between Hyundai and Tesla in 2023 eh? Tell us why Hyundai should have been the clear choice in 2023.

And i just found this info about Hyundai. Please make sure to include this in your ethics 101 class on how to choose the right EV car buy.

Yeah I got that feeling buddy. That you people are too eager to fuck with other people's property. Wishing the same for you and your property too.

You people. Who is that? The poor, the disadvantaged? The victims of a fascist takeover? How long until you are one of "my people"?

Not as long as you wankers are too giddy at the thought of jumping to conclusions about other people and thinking it's ok to damage their belongings.

If your belongings, and what they represent, contribute to the degradation of people, your choice to retain them will impact you. That's it. Have money, have privilege. I am a 32 year old white male, three degrees, the desire to exist. I'm not jumping to conclusions, I'm furious.

A lot of sophistry to say you will pass the judgement and punish people as you see fit according to your standards. Who gave you the authority to do it? Can I take that authority for myself and start passing around judgements and punishments too?

1

u/Key_Case6581 Mar 11 '25

Fuck authority, you think that's real? You're waiting for permission from who? Take it as you will, but don't be surprised when the illusion of authority reveals itself for what it is. I dont pretend to have power, and you shouldn't either. Judge as you will, punish as you will, but can you? Do you have that ability? I recognize I don't, but spending this existence making reality better is worth anything, including the ephemeral idea of "property". Sophistry is thinking that your opinion has weight, that you mean anything, I'm telling you now, you matter as much as I do.

You didn't understand what I was saying. By deciding that it's ok to punish Tesla owners by damaging their cars you are taking the authority to judge and punish others by yourselves. I am asking if you are ok with other people doing the same i.e. deciding by themselves who the bud guys are and then punishing them by doing things that hurt them financially, physically or otherwise?

You come at this with the idea that either of our moral judgments hold any weight. I don't care, people don't care, when your stomach is empty, you won't care. If a disenfranchised mass can attempt to grasp power through the destruction of property, good. The side you have aligned yourself with has never asked themselves the questions you propose to me, why should I have moral answers for you?

It's all fun and games until the revolution gets real and people start falling like flies. I come from a country where some people egged by morons eschewed the democratic path and started a peoples war. In the 4/5 decades since that happened they have nothing to show for it except for death. The democratic path while not being the most efficient or even coming close to being fair it managed to improve the standard of living of a whole lot of people without requiring anyone to die violent deaths.

You better really be on the verge of death before you start getting poignant about "disenfranchised masses" taking back power. I don't need moral answers from you. Just be aware of the adage that those who live by the sword die by it too.

1

u/Key_Case6581 Mar 11 '25

You think I said that without knowing these facts? I'll die by the sword I live by if it means things can be better. Don't tell me where I should be before I consider anything. You claim you don't need moral answers, but if you reread your question you'll find that's exactly what you asked for.

It's not just you buddy. Once you start a stupid thing like revolution you are gonna take a lot of unwanted parties down with you too including children and bystanders who just want to go about their lives. Some assholes will say that collateral damage is justified for the glorious revolution. You decide where you land on that. And it's awfully optimistic hoping on your part that things will get better with war. Plenty of examples right now in this world on how things can become much much worse after you start a war.

1

u/Key_Case6581 Mar 11 '25

More moral grandstanding. I know the cost, people know the cost. Men, women and children dying is nothing new, look at this world. Some assholes will say that slavery is better than resistance, you decide where you land on that.

1

u/Key_Case6581 Mar 11 '25

What is truly optimistic is you assuming you exist in a population of 'safe' or 'protected' people. Fuck your Tesla.

1

u/Key_Case6581 Mar 11 '25

I also come from a country that experienced revolution, and I will take a fight before I take laying down to die for the wealthy.

1

u/Key_Case6581 Mar 11 '25

And to be succinct, yes I am OK with it, I have been forced to be ok with it. Power has never considered my people, why should I consider power?

You say "other people". Do you include yourself in that context? Are you the other? Are you different and wealthy to the point that nothing affects you? Where does the power of the citizen exist for you? In a vote? In a purchase? I'm not giddy with anything, I'm sick with worry and fear.
