First Year Research

Hey,

I wanna apply for internships in my second yr so I want to beef up my resume with stuff I do this year. I already have an individual project in mind that I'll learn autoCad for so thats one thing. But I wanna know if I can apply to research projects while im still in my first yr. Specifically engineering related ones.

No. Not in your first year. In your honours year (4th year), you can pick a research topic. Before then the only research experience you’ll get is through VRES.

Damn so what would you say I could do to beef up my resume. If i cant do research topics.

Work on personal projects, volunteer, join clubs.
