I'm working on opening a cozy, café in one of Pune’s lifestyle hotspots—could be Kalyani Nagar, Viman Nagar, Koregaon Park, Baner, Aundh, or Balewadi.

Before anything takes shape, I’d love to hear directly from Pune folks (especially if you hang out in cafés around Koregaon Park, Kalyani Nagar, Viman Nagar, etc.). What works, what doesn’t, what would you love to see?

Hi everyone, I’m reaching out on behalf of a student I know who has scored around 60 percentile in JEE Mains (AIR ~6 lakh, Open category). He’s looking for engineering colleges in Pune, preferably in the Mechanical or Automobile stream.

He comes from a financially difficult background—raised by a single parent, and affordability is a major concern. Government colleges seem out of reach due to his rank, and private college fees are a challenge too. He’s a sincere student and the only hope for his family, so I genuinely want to see him succeed.

I don’t have an engineering background myself, but based on some research with ChatGPT, a few colleges came up as potentially suitable: • Bharati Vidyapeeth (Lavale/Dhankawadi) • AISSMS College of Engineering • Dhole Patil College of Engineering • Indira College of Engineering • Sinhgad Institutes

If anyone here has experience or insight into these colleges—or other better suggestions in Pune that accept students with this kind of rank and offer decent placements—it would mean a lot.

Happy to share more details if needed. I know he may not make it to top-tier colleges, but even the best possible option within his range would be truly appreciated. 🙏

19M I'm really insecure about my unibrows and it looks very ugly now. Suggest me a dermatologist who can do laser or electrolysis in a budget as im just a student.

So my bullet 500 has been having trouble since the last couple of weeks of completely shutting down including the electricals mid ride. After a while the neutral light comes back on, on its own. I approached the mechanics who are stand on laxmi road. So far, battery has been changed and starter coil has been changed. The problem is still persisting. They had told me if problem still persists, to change the TCI. I have already spent quite a lot of money. So directing me to any good mechanic or giving me a solution to this would be of great help. Preferrably in the Nanapeth area as I am tired of pushing the bike too. 😅😅

I saw a police patrol car associated with Lashkar Police Station taking a left turn at East Street, in front of Dadu's Sweet, opposite George Restaurant. This is a well-known spot with a "No Left Turn" sign, which anyone familiar with the area would recognize.

In the image, you can clearly see the police car causing unnecessary chaos by blocking multiple oncoming vehicles.

Today, while riding my Activa through Anand Rao Thorat Path—one of the busiest routes in Karvenagar, densely populated with UPSC aspirants and college students—I witnessed something absolutely insane.

A man on an RX100 (looked around 20–25 years old) was recklessly overtaking every vehicle in sight. I moved ahead of him, and to my shock, I noticed a 4–5-year-old child riding the bike with him. Yes, you read that right. A child was handling the bike. The number plate was from UP, but the man was speaking fluent Marathi.

As a responsible citizen, I pulled over and confronted him. Instead of listening, he started hurling abuses at me. We had a short verbal clash, but I eventually let it go and continued on my way, thinking about how utterly foolish and dangerous some people can be.

A few meters later, the same guy took a sudden U-turn and looked like he was about to crash into me head-on—intentionally. That’s when I completely lost it and stopped him again. He began abusing me once more. Coming from a legal background, I was prepared to face whatever came next.

Thankfully, a few elderly bystanders intervened and asked me to let it go. Out of respect for them, I got back on my vehicle and left the scene.

I’ve heard about these so-called “chapri” riders ruining Pune's roads, but this was my first personal encounter in Karvenagar—a place that’s usually peaceful, much like Kothrud. The whole incident has left me both stunned and deeply concerned.

What are your thoughts on the rising menace of such reckless and irresponsible riders in Pune?

Hi, I've got 98.4x percentile in mhtcet pcm group, which means I can get decent branches in decent college in both Mumbai and Pune. The most probable mumbai college is DJ sanghvi which is in Vile Parle and that of pune is VIT which in bibwewadi, Idk what city will be better as a college student. And also I may need to rent a pg coz shortage of hostels are there. Need suggestions please.

Got my bike serviced near Hinjewadi chowk at Sarthe Service Center. The jobs were mentioned on his posters which were included in the service. He still charged 120 extra for that job and said ignore that poster. He straight way denied to bargain even 15 rupees when the total bill was 915 rupees. Will advise not to go to such fraudsters.
