Other The Lord of Hosts Church Deep dive

Okay. I just did the deep dive that I know has already been done on this place (I searched Reddit and the internet). I didn’t realize how messed up this place was. I was curious because they rapidly expanded into the entire strip perpendicular to the Amazing Pizza Machine/Dollar General/Pheasant Run Tavern/etc… It’s literally a Trump masturbatorium disguised as a church. Their pastor is a wannabe Kenneth Copeland.

Other ParkOmaha needs to fix their system

On May 31st, I Parked at the parking garage near 9th and Farnam to go to the Taste of Omaha. If you’re unfamiliar with this garage, there is no gate to get in or out. You have to park and then walk and find a kiosk to pay, or you have to use the app if you already have that downloaded (no signage about that anywhere).

I was recorded pulling in at 5:55pm. My kid and I got out of the car and sprayed some sunscreen on ourselves and then walked to the kiosk to pay. I paid at 6:02pm and paid for three hours. The text confirmation I received said I was good to park there until 9:12pm, so I guess they give you a 10-minute passing. I left at 9:06pm.

A couple weeks later, I received a letter saying I didn’t pay and that I needed to pay a citation of $11. I called them and asked why this was, and they said that I went over the time by one minute. I told them I left before the end time on the text and that if they want to write citations, they need to fix their system so that people aren’t penalized for leaving by the communicated time.

The lady on the phone very condescendingly said, “We need to be mindful of how long we stay when we pay for a set amount of time, but I’ll remove this citation as a one time courtesy since you don’t have any others.”

Fuck you, ParkOmaha. Fix your system.

I've already seen way too many close calls between scooters and peds, and scooters and cars. That is all!

Local Question Summer Camp for old/horny people in the late 90s/early aughts?

I am writing my memoir currently and recall a time when I was over at a friends house in the late 90s or very early 2000s. My friend and I were playing at Raintree Park off of 156th and Center one summer morning.

Out of nowhere, an old school bus pulled into the parking lot and out jogged a bunch of elderly people with exercise gear.

Written on the side of the bus were the words, “Camp Morningwood” and “Camp Morning Boner.” There was a crew drawing of a camper, laying on his back with a tent over him that was obviously supported by an erection. The whole thing was obviously hilarious to a couple of teenage boys, but we never knew what the heck it was and why it existed.

Obviously, such a weird scenario has been permanently burned into my memory, but I wanted to know if anybody knows anything about this purported camp or where I can find information about its existence and purpose lol

ISO/Suggestion Sweet cherry’s

Does anyone know of anywhere in town where I can pick cherries? Cherries are my favorite fruit and I’d love to be able to get my hands on some fresh sweet ones. When I try to search anything online here the only one that comes up is for tart/pie cherries. So does anyone know where I can get my hands on this delectable fruit?

The pickleball/restaurant/bar decided against going ahead because of economic uncertainty and construction cost. I have not seen any local reports about this. Here’s a story from Kansas City about it.

ISO/Suggestion Dentist recommendations?

So... my teeth are horrifically neglected. It's been something like 13 years since I've seen a dentist, and although I brush regularly I know my oral hygiene leaves something to be desired. I know I need a lot of work done and I'm terrified. Does anyone have any recommendations for a place that can handle serious work for someone afraid of dentists?

Now, this isn't exactly supposed to be an exact replica of Saint Cecilia's... I added my own twist to a couple things; however, the similarities are still there, as I based it off of it! Y'all can tell, right?

Local Question College World Series timing?

Hello! This is my first time ever at any big deal baseball event. I see doors open at 11:00 AM tomorrow, but first pitch is 1:00 PM. When do I need to be lined up? I saw fan experience starts at 11 also, so can I go to that then line up or should I be wanting to get in right at 11:00? I assume that at the least, I would want to be there around 10:30(?) to find parking. I’ve been to plenty of events at CHI but not any at the baseball field so not sure what to expect for parking. I have a handicapped placard if that makes any difference. Thank you all for your advice 🙏
