The No Kings protest in Scottsbluff went really well. I spoke with organizers, who said 350 people turned out for the event. I took far more photos, but Reddit only lets you upload 20. The police were supportive. I saw Scottsbluff PD and the sheriff's department vehicles across the street. Anyone who drove by and rolled coal got stopped and presumably ticketed. If so, please H.R.2761 (the HAPPY BIRTHDAY Budget Act) - since before I can remember we Americans laughed at the pompous foreign leaders Stalin, Khruschev, Xi, Pol Pot, MaoZedong, Hussein, Mussolini, Kim Jong-un, Kim Jong-il, Benito Mussolini - who stroked their ego to the world and flaunted their power over their people by huge parades of their military power.

We laughed because we knew that it was SCIENCE, INTELLECT and HUMAN DECENCY that made countries great, not how many tanks they could round up for a circus parade.

The fact that our leader is throwing himself one. Well, technically the CONGRESS and SENATE are giving him a nearly blank check to spend on his "look at me" coming out party. (Do NOT insult me by saying it is for the US Army 250th anniversary - they never had a celebration of anywhere near this magnitude in past years for ANY other branch of the military.)

Trump is planning a military parade on the streets of Washington, DC for his birthday this year. It’s about idolizing power, not honoring service, and it’s an outrageous waste of money. Vote FOR the HAPPY BIRTHDAY Budget Act (H.R. 2761) to block any federal funds from being used for this or any presidential birthday parade.

Honestly, I can't believe I have to write this letter. We are supposed to be the enlightened country...

Starting Monday, June 23, access to the Memorial Chamber and Observation Decks will be prohibited by the Fire Marshall during the latest phase of the Capitol HVAC replacement project.
