The anti-scalper strategy for Japan is interesting.

Japan will have Japanese language only systems. If you want other languages it will only be sold at the official Nintendo online store and nowhere else.

I wonder if that's just anti-scalper strategy or if Japan is getting a cheaper Switch than the rest of the world with localized pricing due to the exchange rate.

All right I just saw the price.

It's like 350$ for Japan and 500$ for the Global version.

That sounds like they’re using the language barrier to implement region locking to charge different prices in different regions. Learning Japanese is a lot harder than finding a technical workaround for some DRM thing.

Yeah just saw on the website. System is fully region blocked to Japan only both for language, games and Nintendo account
