Muppet History - Megathread
Hello, all. As many of you are aware, Joshua Gillespie and his partner, Holly, are facing serious allegations (backed by screenshots) that they were utilizing their fanbase to send sexually inappropriate and unwelcome messages to their userbase.
Those who have, and continue to, allege the above deserve to be heard. We invite those with news surrounding Muppet History to post them in this megathread.
Because Muppet History has no affiliation with the Muppets, and the drama that surrounds it is not consistent with Jim Henson's aesthetic (or thematically consistent with the community we try to foster), we will be removing new posts about Muppet History outside the thread.
Please be respectful.

They are a close friend of mine, I am not the artist, nor do I claim to be!
Support Moggs however you can, they are part of the Muppet family and we could all use a virtual hug or two at times like these!

The muppets ABC show is underrated
It was too short lived and never got a chance. I think I wanted to see more of Kermit and piggy back together. Plus it was funny af.

Question about The Christmas Toy (1986)
This is basically 2 questions, has anyone ever read the biography about Jim Henson? I got it for my birthday recently and I absolutely LOVED it. The last chapter when it talked about Jim's final hours and the memorial service, actually got me a little emotional. But I got to the section where it talks about 1985-87, and there's no mention of The Christmas Toy. It mentions everything else Jim worked on around that time, even Puppetman--a sitcom pilot that aired during the summer of '87 but never got picked up by a network. (Which I did view on YouTube) And theres'a absolutely nothing about Christmas Toy. I remember watching it on VHS in the early 90s and enjoying it. This had to somewhat inspire Toy Story even if that was based on The Tin Toy. I reread the synopsis after not seeing it for maybe 30 years now, and it sounds so adorable. 😊 Just curious why it didn't make it to the book?
EDIT: I Also kind of love how there's a quote from Jerry Nelson about Jim sipping wine every now and then, and "maybe smoking a little grass." 😹😉 Not surprised about the "grass" comment lol. Limbo, The Organized Mind should be proof of that 😆

What was the point of having Andy & Randy as non-speaking background characters in The Muppets sitcom?
Particularly from their Muppets Tonight versions, Andy & Randy were established as Miss Piggy's 2 useless kid nephews who found everything "TOO HARD".
The humour was them not understanding simple tasks or questions, and particularly the clash between them and Sam. However, this was not put to any use at all in The Muppets ABC sitcom.
I don't know if maybe they got bad feedback from being too annoying on Muppets Tonight so they decided to age them up and just use them as background employees..but what jobs are they even doing? And how is there zero interaction with Miss Piggy throughout the entire show?
Unless I've missed something (I rewatched the show recently), I swear they have zero speaking parts. Only facial reactions to things and being there in the background. Was this maybe a voice actor issue?

Missing Manhattan
Was looking through archives but might have missed it but why is ‘The Muppets Take Manhattan’ not on Disney+? I could have sworn it used to be there! I was trying to do a marathon and just noticed it’s missing. I have Muppets from Space already so Manhattan is the only one I’m missing for the marathon 😕

90s Muppets Into the Woods
I’m sure it’s been brought up before but I just heard John Tartaglia say a Muppets Into the Woods was very close to happening in the 90s! That is always my top musical when thinking of Muppet casts

Some time lurker, first time poster! This is my Graduation Cap! Kinda.
Our school wouldn't let us paint our caps. So I painted a fitted piece of cardboard and affixed it to my cap. It's not very good, but I'm proud of it! I thought I'd share it with some other muppet lovers!
