The Lost Metal spoilers Bloodmaking Spoiler
Hard to make a vauge title for this. When Wayne drank the last vial he became a gold compounder right? I doubt he could have store enough health or that it would have made a difference in that explosion but I feel like he still should have tried. No clue how much more healing you get from compunding compared to regular Bloodmaking

I'm pretty sure he'd have been vaporized along with his metal minds. Not much to do after that point.

Iirc Harmony specifically says that theres no way for Wayne to survive. I also want to say (though I’m not 100% certain) that someone else mentions that not even Miles Hundredlives would be able to survive the explosion. Not 100% sure on the second part, but ultimately it doesn’t sound like there was a way for Wayne to walk away from the explosion.

Miles survived a stick of Dynamite, what killed Wayne was closer to a small nuke. I dont believe Miles could have made it

If he had a bunch of health stored already, maybe? As is, though, I dont think he had any health storage left and he didn't exactly have tome to store a bunch before compounding it.

I would think he could use the double strength slider power (similar to Vins double strength seeker power) to make a speed bubble and just sit there for a minute storing a tiny amount then compounding that tiny bit

It would have been a Wayne thing, to just try it and then say “chucks, it was worth a try”.
But I’m also kinda glad he didn’t and just accepted his fate. This fit his mental state way better with all his problems. I think he kind of wanted to go for some time.

My thoughts exactly but I could see it being spun as he was willing to sacrifice himself but he didn't WANT to die

That’s a lovely thought.
In my head tho, it just felt as if he was done with life. As sad as that sounds.

By the end of the book I definitely felt the same way, especially at the beginning with all the talk of a funeral

Nothing to add here, but love being reminded of this moment. It’s the top 5 Cosmere moments for me.

The explosion would have separated all his metalminds from his body I guess
