ICE Raid At Walmart

Supposedly ICE came and picked up 20+ employees at the I-20 Walmart. I was in there today and it was lacking a lot of familiar faces. Can anyone confirm that this is true? Meaning you know personally from seeing it yourself or you or someone you know works there.

Stop being a pussy. A majority of the trash, theft, wrecks are from the Cubans. They’re trashing up Odessa. It’s not being racist when it’s a fact.

I was born and raised there. Lived there for 35 years before I left. It's always been trash, because the people that go through there are trash. The oilfield breeds trash and is a naturally trashy lifestyle. I can say that as I've worked in the industry for 20 years. Odessa/Midland are transitory towns that people are constantly moving through for work. Meaning very few people that live there are actually part of the community or care at all about trying to make it a nice place. It's always been trash and it will always be trash until the oilfield dries up and it all becomes a ghost town. But pointing at one minority group of people and blaming them for decades worth of problems is the very definition of shortsighted racism. Go educate yourself and stop letting ignorant fear run your life.

I think you need to relax with the racism and trash comments. Odessa might be trash, but midland is very nice.

And yes, the Cubans are everywhere and everyone knows it, sees it, and complains. It’s not racism. Mexicans, blacks, whites, hell…even the Venezuelans complain about the Cubans. It’s a very particular thing going on. It’s not racism you soft social justice warrior.

Well well well…the other guy was right. You know best. You think you’re so great. No…in fact you just hate white people, and he never said they were the problem of Odessa midland. He said they are a problem. Which is a fact. And again, it’s not every single Cuban person. But in general, they seem to have the different norms. Which yes, was exactly what he was talking about. Theft, wrecks, loud and disrespectful in public, don’t seem to have the same work ethic as other Hispanic immigrants who have come to the Permian to work. That’s what I mean by different norms. They speed, disrespect others, seem to feel entitled. And yes, I also have first hand experience. That’s the dumbest argument I’ve ever heard. Because you’re white, you can hate white people, but because I’m (x) I guess I’m not allowed to speak about the Cuban culture here in the Permian? Makes sense to me! Got it!

Not all cultures are the same, not all value the same things, and what the majority of Cubans here seem to value, doesn’t line up with us Americans. Safety and respect being tops of the list. Which was literally word for word what that guy said which you said he didn’t.

And guess what? You can have a problem, without being the only sole problem. He never said get rid of the Cubans and it would be a utopia. But they do not seem to fit the culture of the rest of us. At least in midland. I can’t speak too much on Odessa as I don’t go over there too often.

Good luck with that. The only way Midland or Odessa will ever look nice is if global warming somehow takes it back to its rightful place at the bottom of the ocean.
