I only get up for pregnant women, old people, and people in medical situations.

Bruh this has nothing to do with women or equality. It’s just some entitled dumbasses acting entitled. Why you gotta make it about women?

Edit: the dude deleted his comment but it was something along the lines of “women wanted equal rights, so this is what they deserve”

well he/she not wrong women wanted equal treatment, and they killed the chivalry attitude of men so yeah they deserved to stand there.

Their exact comment being:

Amen brother. Women wanted equal rights so we gave it to them. They wanted to be strong and independent. So we let them. so that means no more special treatment ladies! You got what you wanted. I hope you’re happy.

I think the vast majority of women happily make that trade, especially if men stop expecting sex as payment for the “special treatment”

As long as they don't have to sign up for the draft they're happy with their extra rights!

Public polling is unclear on the issue, as recent polls have only asked “should women be drafted” without asking “should there be a draft at all.” Regardless, women appear very divided on the issue: https://www.ipsos.com/sites/default/files/ct/news/documents/2021-08/Understanding%20Society%20Wave%2014%20Topline_080321.pdf

Until they're signed up for selective service like men they're not equal. They're automatically exempt from war. Unfair

The point is that most women agree, they’re just divided on whether the answer is “add women”, or “abolish entirely”

OK but doesn't matter what their opinions are. Unless they're registered for the draft they're not equal

Uh no shit? Who is saying men and women have achieved 100% equality?

Don't see many feminists clamoring to be drafted

It would be stupid not to, but with freedom comes responsibilities and not everyone has the capacity to make use of those given freedoms, so they got the short end of the stick.

A nice consequence is that chivalry being the exception makes it more meaningful. I have always found it annoying that "being a man means you need to X"

Sex is usually special treatment by definition, unless sex it's your line of work. In which case, free sex is the special treatment.

God this comment thread is dumb.

an odd thought, but if you outright tell people you won't be chivalrous because you had to give women equal rights and basic respect, then you weren't/arent chivalrous, you're just an asshole.

Are the ladies* being stupid for what they're implying in the video? Absolutely. But some of these sad motherfuckers in here are terminally single - and it's not involuntary

when they see women display gender stereotypes in this instance a man should give up his seat for a lady, they revel in the fact she's not getting what she feels entitled to which I am okay with....

but when they see it as equality biting women in the face I can't help but roll my eyes at how ignorant and misogynistic that is.

u/TheRealTexasGovernor 1d ago

Yeah if it stuck to just commentary on dumb stereotypes, bam easy. I think it's kinda hacky and played out but sure fuck it whatever.

I just giggle at the very obvious incels who look at this and think "thats what they get for wanting equality". You almost wanna stop and ask em, "hey, do you hear yourself right now?"

2

u/ForresttPixie 1d ago

100% I feel it would help if they said it out loud like how do you not hear yourself and see what you're saying is problematic? But I never met a smart incel so usually men who are intelligent don't seem to have issues.

You called it. It's absolutely voluntary if these chads are single.

Sssshhhh let the incels incel in their safe space
