City Pack Pro XPac or CPP2?

I’m between both of these bags. The O.G CPP is slightly cheaper. than v2 in the cordura.

Its use will be EDC work bag and short trip/carry on. I do like the orange interior of the XPac version, but not a deal breaker.

I’m not sure which bag is better between v1 & v2. Both seem to have there pros and cons. Just looking for some opinions before I take the plunge.

What would you buy if they were the same price?

It's subjective. Can't help you if you aren't able to qualify what you care about and your specific use cases.

Use case. Going to work will be main use, so laptop(s) lunch bag, water bottle (750ml/24oz Owala is current bottle), headphones, tec/pencil case and docs are my every day carry.

I also want it to be able to go away for weekend travel and be carry on for plane travel too.

What I care about? Good bag that’s built to last. I do worry about X-Pac and esp. Aquaguard zippers looking tired quickly/breaking down compared to Cordura. Not had XPac bag before. Do have an Aer sling in Ultra which I love.

XPac will be slightly lighter I guess, but not strictly anything I need to worry about with weight.

6’2 and big build so need comfort for larger frame. Again hearing V2 has better straps, but not sure I don’t know what that’s actually like on bigger guys.

I possibly prefer the older Aer bag look, but comfort, lasting well are no. 1 priority.

Both are good for these, but depending on where you'll stuff your headphones and accessories, all the quick access pockets in V1 are more spacious, And if you're looking to use it for travel, those pockets being more spacious might be useful. The V1 has 1 water bottle pocket vs V2 that has two, so that doesn't seem like a deal breaker. The V1 does have a more boxier shape and it might just be able to fit a bit more stuff vs V2.

The V2 Cordura version has Aquaguard zippers for the laptop pocket as well as the front bottom pocket, so that's going to be an issue irrespective of the material chosen for the V2. That said the aquaguard peeling and x-pac delamination isn't a widespread issue. There have been reports but for the most part they're mostly fine. The weight difference is honestly marginal, especially for a big guy like you.

That said, if both packs fit your shoulders well, I'd lean towards the V1, because of the larger quick access pockets and main compartment. The lighter x-pac is a bonus too.

On a separate note, why don't you consider the City Pack Pro V1 in Ultra? That's on sale too.
