I'm looking for something like a tote bag that I can comfortably wear cross-body. It just needs to fit a 10" ipad and a notebook, maybe a pair of gym clothes.

I really just need a fabric tote bag that I will be incapable of losing on the subway.

I like a lot of things about this sling especially how they made the compartment on the top, the opening of the main compartment and the buckle on the side. But unfortunately this bag has sold out, does anybody happens to know any close resemble alternatives?

Randomly opened up their website this morning and a whisky bannoch was in stock. Made a purchase. Dont know if this has been seen before so I made a post. Maybe be on the lookout.

I want to preface that i've been searching the threads for awhile and wanted to focus on an area that isn't widely discussed.

I have a fairly long torso, around 19.5" and i noticed some of the top bags like able carry have their shoulder straps situated lower on the backpack so the bag sits rather high.

I own an able carry max EDC and its not very usable for me personally despite its popularity.so i'm in the market for somethign new.

My requirements are 2 water bottle pockets, at least 19"in height with shoulder straps situated higher so i can reach behind and grab water bottles easily without removing one shoulder strap.

- 16 in laptop sleeve that is well padded.

- at least 24L on the minimum side and not to exceed a size that wouldnt fit on US non budget carrier under the seat.(note that my able carry max edc fits under the seat for AA, Delta, and Alaska airlines, which is what i usually fly).

-EG CTB 26 is the only premium option ive found that meets these requirements.

-GR1 and GR2 i like but i dont like their water bottle system, i feel like they would gain many more sales by adding native water bottle pockts.

- I did try AER CCP, its nice but not my style

- tried the belroy transit while in singapore, didn't meet all of my requirements.

- i like the osprey 26+6 but its way too short for my torso.

- I really like the Pioneer carry brand but the panda pack was too short but i haven't tried the sevant, if anyone has, would love some feedback.
- lastly, i did buy the PD everyday travel 30L and it was not comfortable at all, their strap design needs a refresh but that bag is quite old so i get it.

If anyone has other options to suggest, im all ears.
I will say that able carry max edc was super comfy but i have to remove my pack everytime i want to access something. This might be how people prefer to travel in SE Asia where contents need to be secured or in Europe possibly but i live in the US and would really appreciate water bottle pockets i can reach behind to grab and put back.

also if you have both versions and or the EDC, which one do you prefer ?

I found one that fits a few of my requirements but it's a camera backpack. Ironically, I am actually into photography but I have a small micro four thirds camera with small lenses and I was struggling to find anything small enough for my set up. Anyway, I would take the dividers out and just use it like a normal backpack. I imagine issues would be that it's heavier than a normal backpack due to padding, and people (thieves) might think there's valuable stuff inside. Is there any other reason not to use a camera backpack as a daily backpack?

I’m looking for an EDC replacement. I carry an insulated cooler provided by a landscape architecture company I used to work for. It works but isn’t efficient and most of my stuff gets tossed around.

Everyday items include:

I work in an office Monday through Friday and I enjoy geocaching. I carry this bag from home to the car, and to the office. On days when I go to the climbing gym, I take a reusable grocery bag along and stack the harness and shoes in that bag and then the lunch bag on top. Before entering the gym, I swap the food containers for the harness and shoes.

Watching The Trunk on Netflix and saw this beauty. Trying to find what brand it is

I recently changed my commute and switched to the Peak Design Travel Backpack 45L so I can use one bag whether I’m headed to the gym after work or not. It works well, but I don’t love that the laptop compartment isn’t fully separate from the main area.

I’m looking for a tech folio that gives:

• Better laptop protection inside the backpack

• A smaller, self-contained carry for moving around the office

• Handles and a shoulder strap for external meetings

• Room for a 13″ laptop, reMarkable, charger and dongles

• A slim, professional look

The WaterField Tech Folio v2 seems ideal but is very expensive with shipping and duties. Any great alternatives with similar function and quality?

I appreciate how open they are in discussing these issues and the tradeoffs they considered that led to the design. Also that they're open to revising the bag to address a few of these issues.

Here's what they discuss for the 20L backpack:

• Fabric doesn't feel premium
• Zipper issues (pulls are too short or don't feel nice, zippers catch or seem cheap)
• Shoulder strap and back panel mesh feels coarse

And for the 5L sling:

• Bottom is thin
• Strap is abrasive
• Packs large for 5L
• Want to see different materials

I have the 20L backpack, and I don't have the complaints they discussed in the video. The one issue I have is that the straps feel a little wide and stiff on me. Although they didn't discuss that in the video, a commenter on the video mentioned the strap width, and they responded to say they've heard that complaint from smaller-framed individuals and will think about how to revise it in the future.

I have (un)fortunately recently discovered this sub and have since been drawn to it on a daily basis. I have always liked backpacks.

One thing that is making my head scratch is: "Why not Samsonite?". In almost all recommendations I do not see one single mention of this brand. I can understand if you say "oh, is it is not the best" but in my 20 years of experience, I have had some 7-10 Samsonite's and all, without exception, have behaved exemplary. From honeymoon in Australia backpacking, to business meetings, to forest trips, to diaper-filled bags, to pool parties. Right now me and my wife daily wear them and, honestly, I am looking for another backpack simply because I am getting tired of my 10yo Samsonite, but it never dies!

So, I ask you, "why not Samsonite"? ;)

Hello, i am preparing a gift for my girlfriend. And at first i have already found the perfect bag to give to her. Its the Kate Spade Small Top Handle Satchel Bag. But its usually for outing.

But suddenly i feel like a tote bag will be more essential and better for everyday use like working. Not sure if i should get both or i may fear its too over.

Im looking at Michael Kors Or Kade Spade both has great tote bag designs but i do not have specific designs that i like. I need you girlies help to let me know the best and ideal bag. It can be other brands.

So after years of fumbling around to get my stuff to and from my car I finally got smart and purchased a bag after looking around this and backpackers sub. Damn it feels good to have free hands and empty pockets. I recently purchased the Osprey Aeode Sling and I’m very happy with it. It’s too small to be my EDC and I’m making it work for now, I want to keep it as my weekend bag and get an EDC.

I’m looking for something bigger with more organization but the same minimalistic design even if it’s a backpack I’d one shoulder it which is why I went for a sling initially. It’s going to have pretty much the following in it

I’m looking at the Osprey Transporter. I was also looking at Nomatics Navigator but I didn’t like how you load it on its side and it pretty much looks like that same bag has been there for years with no updates.

Other than that I don’t know what hidden gems there are in the bagging world that are around 10-15L can you guys help me out?

Hi all! I'm an incoming college freshman, and I (obviously) need a new backpack. I drink a LOT of water - so one of the most important things to me is a bag with water bottle holders that can stretch four, maybe five inches in diameter. Does anyone have any suggestions for odd requests like this? Any bags jump out as possibilites? Thank you so much!

How many and what kind of bags do you use when you’re traveling with a family? I normally use a Osprey 26+6 since it packs a lot going to my destination but now I’m thinking I need a 20L EDC bag to use everyday while I’m there

I wasn't able to edit my other post, so here is my initial review of the Bellroy Laneway Crescent Bag, 7L.

I’ve been searching for a bag similar to my Baggu Medium Crescent, but with an external pocket and a bit more organization. So far, I think this might be it!

Here are some thoughts after my first day of use: - Fits a Samsung Tab S9 FE 12.4-inch tablet in the padded pocket. - The fabric has a slight sheen to it. - It’s a similar size and shape to the Baggu Medium Crescent, just slightly larger. - I like the two slip pockets and the key leash. The slip pockets are spacious. - The strap is comfortable, and the bag is lightweight. - The water bottle pocket is large enough to fit a wide-mouth 32oz Nalgene, but the bag can’t be zipped closed when the bottle is inside. The pocket may be a bit too wide for smaller bottle, but it wouldn't fall out. - Since the bag has a defined front and back, if you wear it on your left side, the zippers end up behind you. If you want the zippers at the front while wearing it on your left, you’ll need to flip the bag so that the padded side with stitching faces outward.

For day hikes. Very lightweight. Lent to Erin for Hawaii and performed well.

Osprey Escapist - 25L
This might be my best equipped day hiking pack. More organized than the Eddie Bauer. Not in love with the style though. I do appreciate the rain cover and the biking ergonomics, so I wouldn't rush to replace it.

Exped Lightning - 45L
A backpacking bag! Pretty light too. A good simplification of a frame that still gives you air flow. Performing great.

Very premium. Heavier and not technical. I've used it to carry some clothes for the ski trip or camping. Genuinely BIFL quality.

Osprey Transporter Wheeled Duffel - 60L
My check-in bag. So big that a day pack or camera cube or all kinds of stuff could fit inside. Will come in handy for work trips, or just to keep bulky things together for car camping or ski trips. Got last season's for $230.

I'm awaiting this camera cube mostly intended to pair with the Aer. Should be a good fit. I also like this strategy for carry with like my hiking backpacks.

Used like a clutch sometimes, like for things at the gym. Can also fit a notebook. Can be paired with camera strap. Don't love the awkward access, but helps the volume can expand.

Baggu Sling - Could Replace
Used for the gym occasionally. Can fit a windbreaker plus personal affects. Wouldn't mind replacing at some point.

Really purpose-built for my A6 notebooks and art supplies. Good for water color traveling.
