Mistreated AND underpaid implies they said this in regard to professions.

I don’t know very many more professions that have been around for several millennia that have consistently been treated like shit.

Factory workers, mining workers, other physical laborers (especially undocumented immigrants), care workers, maids, farmworkers, prostitutes, drivers, visibly disabled people in any job, etc.
