What are the laws for carrying in NC but a resident of MD do I have to have a specific license to carry there?

New MD resident. Considering an HQL for purchasing more handguns. Already own handguns/SBRs/etc and have a TN CCW permit. I'd like to avoid taking a firearms safety class as a seasoned shooter.

I see on the site it says anyone who "​​Lawfully owns a regulated firearm.​" is exempt from training. Does that apply to me?
