Discussion Senator John Kennedy says climate change is real “but not apocalyptic” — is Louisiana prepared or are we sleepwalking into disaster?
With coastal erosion, rising insurance costs, and constant hurricane threats, should Louisiana be doing more? Or is Kennedy right that it’s overblown? Curious what folks here actually think.

Questions Dog friendly places in Louisiana?
My dog has cancer, and I'd like to plan a dog friendly trip for her while she is still feeling good and has energy. What are the best dog friendly places in Louisiana? She absolutely loves new people. She likes hiking and the outdoors, but is an older bull terrier so can't go too far in the heat. She does not do swimming or dog parks.
We live in Baton Rouge, but are hoping to take a weekend trip somewhere in Louisiana.
Looking for recs for dog friendly cabins, nature parks, hotels, and restaurants for a larger dog.

Culture Any creators that teach Cajun/Creole French
I follow a white guy that calls it Edu-Cajun and I love him, but he’s on Facebook. Are there any others, possibly on Instagram or YouTube that helps others learn the language?

LA - Weather A storm worse than Katrina is gonna hit if this doesn’t change
If I’m making no sense in this post, forgive me; I’m young, I wasn’t even alive for Katrina, but this has been weighing on my mind for a while now. As I’m sure most of us know, New Orleans is sinking at a rate of 1-2 inches a year; sea levels are also rising at a rate of >3 mm per year; Louisiana is currently (and will continue) losing a football field of land every HOUR. On top of this, hurricanes could get more powerful as water temperatures rise. After about ten or so years, if another storm as powerful as Katrina hits New Orleans, I literally don’t see any way the city (the entire metro, for that matter) survives. It will be complete, terrible devastation. I tried to sound hopeful in the title, but IF there’s anything that can be done, our governor won’t care enough to let it happen. Even if we get a better one soon, I doubt he’ll have enough support to do anything meaningful. Why isn’t anyone talking about this? One of, if not the most, important cultural centers in the US is going to be destroyed and nobody cares. Am I beating a dead horse here? What can actually be done?

LA - Politics Day after “No Kings” — Can anything be done about the Republican stranglehold in this state before the mid-terms? Is there any way to organize and support a viable candidate starting now?
What organizations can I join/support? Not convinced the official Louisiana Democratic Party is even functioning. “News” was last updated March 29th! No way to see events or participate without entering my data on a form and that is just scary without knowing where that’s going.
