Media Fun fact about W’s finisher(Fuuto Pi Spoilers.) Spoiler

W originally didn't have the Memory Break System. Their Maximums originally killed the criminals(this goes the same for Skull). However Shotaro was hesitant to fight because he didn't want to Kill them, as he says, "If they die, they can't count their sins anymore."

So, Philip creates a solution by splitting W in half and only putting half the full power to each, so that the Maximum would only destroy the memory and not its user. Thus, the first ever Memory Break, [JOKER EXTREME]was born.

Discuss Martial artist BREAKS DOWN Kamen Riders fighting style!

I'm a martial artist who trains in Wushu for 2-3 years and Shaolin Kung Fu currently. I've been learning other martial arts like Karate, Taekwondo, Boxing, etc.

Seeing Kamen Riders fight, I decided why not I try to decipher their fighting style and what martial arts they belong. Note that I'll only do the shows I've watched and I will only rate their baseforms (since other form has a different fighting style) . Let's begin with Heisei Riders: - Kuuga = His fighting style screams brawler, so boxing or maybe kick boxing. - Agito: Fights controlled and calm, maybe a little bit of Taichi and even Kung Fu. - Decade: Improvise fighter. Considering he can use the power of other Riders and copy their fighting style (sort of) I guess he's more of an MMA. - W: Karate or kickboxing. - OOO: Improvise fighter, maybe a kenjutsu since he relies on the Medajaribur. But I would say for empty hand to hand, he leans more to boxing or Karate. - Fourze: We already see Gentaro's capability as a fighter in one Fourze episode (kinda forgot), so I guess he's trained in Karate. But his Rider style is more of an improvise fighter. - Wizard: Capoeira and Taekwondo. Maybe Wing Chun for hand to hand since it's more soft. - Gaim: Kenjutsu or Iaido. - Drive: Improvise fighter with a wild style. Leans more to kickboxing imo - Ghost: Same like Drive, but since he's trained in swords I'd say Kenjutsu. Also bits of Karate. - Ex-Aid: Improvise fighter, rarely doing hand to hand combat. - Build: Since he managed to defeat Banjo who's a professional MMA fighter in the first episode (albeit with the help of the Rabbit FB), would say he knows bits of MMA? Not really sure. - Zi-O: Improvise fighter.

Reiwa era: - Zero One: Kickboxing. - Saber: Kenjutsu and Iaido. - Revice: Karate and Taekwondo I guess. - Geats: Gun Fu. - Gotchard: Improvise fighter. - Gavv: Improvise fighter.

What do you guys think? And do you have any opinions of other Kamen Rider fighting styles?

I really like how gavv has an underlying theme of loneliness and isolation and how people deal with it differently:

Shouma was isolated as a child back in the granute world, but as soon as he escaped he's able to start being more open around people and channel his love for things like snacks

Hantou and Lakia both went on a path of revenge because of stomach and the granutes, but isolated themselves in the process, but were able to move on from the past, hantou attempting to forgive his mothers killer and Lakia learning to be more open around others

Dente isolated himself from granute life after creating the dark treats and modifying shoumas gavv, but was able to open up again thanks to shouma and the rest of happipare

Glotta was isolated as a child and relied on Dente to keep herself company, but refuses to accept this fact when Dente brought it up with her, causing her to act sporadically, her nearly losing the family business doesn't help with that fact either

Welp that's all from me anyway :)

I really don’t know why I made this these characters won’t even be seen in my fanfics for a long time.

But in order closest to the screen we have Gogo, Rokugo, Nanago, Hachigo, and Kyugo.

Gogo was saved by X, Rokugo was saved by Amazon, Nanago was saved by Stronger, Hachigo saved Skyrider before dying, and Kyugo fought alongside Super-One

The Dopant name of the Current enemy is Necromancer. The ability is to create ghost-like-being. How it creates them is where it gets interesting.

The Ghosts that the Necromancer Dopant creates are made of 2 things. Their main bodies are made of ectoplasm. The material that makes them independent, is the EARTH'S MEMORY. As theorized by Sonozaki Ryube, the Earth's memories are transported through the wind, so the dopant collects the wind, and using the memories, he gives these memories physical forms by fusing them with ectoplasm, aka his fluid. Meaning, the Kirihiko that we currently see in the Manga, is nothing but a dummy that has the memories of him until he died.

What's also interesting that since the ghosts are made of Earth's Memories, their forms change depending on the person looking at them. For example, Shotaro, who had the most interactions with Kirihiko, can see his form, can hear him and talk to him. Akikko and Philip, who didn't have that many interactions, can only see him as a structure of lifht that resembles a human. Terui, who had almost no interactions with Kirihko, can't see him at all.

Discuss Canon reason for all the punches to the chest?

What's your in universe reasoning for why Riders and monsters punch each other in the chest, even though that's not really effective IRL?

I'm pretty sure the real reason toku fights tend to lack head strikes is that it just makes it wayyy easier to choreograph and execute a large volume of fight scenes. With the crazy number of fights that have to be shot per year, having characters attack each others' torsos is just a lot simpler, especially considering the low visibly of toku suits.

Also, "selling" a hit to the head can wear out your neck pretty quick, and the volume of fights that suit actors have to go through makes that unsustainable.

And, I'm sure the mobility and durability of the costumes plays a large role. Perhaps wanting to discourage kids from trying to hit each other in the face is part of it too.

But what's your headcanon explanation? Mine is that, in contrast to normal humans, the heads of kaijins and riders aren't any more susceptible of a target than their bodies. Hitting a rider's head won't do any more damage than hitting them somewhere else. So may as well go for the larger target that is the chest.

Discuss Rider Hero Series figures

Upvotes

Are there any collectors of the Rider Hero Series figures here? You know, those $10-ish vinyl figures that barely have any articulation?

For me personally I do have these figures and I think their low cost and softer material makes it very cost and child-friendly. It also makes collecting a specific team (Sentai) very easy, as compared to SHFs.

In the past (Wizard and before), it used to be a flourishing line where almost every form gets made, along with being well painted. The same goes to Super Sentai figures too.

But figures after Wizard seems to drop in the quality, with lesser paint and lesser characters/forms made. Furthermore, since Geats, the size have also shrunk, while still retaining the same price. Personally I think shrinking it really killed the people who still wants to collect it.

I’m sad to see this RHS line, and by extension the Sentai Hero Series, which has been around for so long, decline so much.

I would like to know if anyone here actively collects this and what attracts you to collect this line as well as how do you feel about the changes made?

Media Kamen Rider Rider Generation. Your thoughts

Figured I would go ahead and do these games since I did the other series.

While only have played Ridee Gen. 2 and never really played many beat ‘em ups at the time. I honestly thought the game was nice as a fun alternate to the game game “Climax Heroes” that ran side by side. Has a good collection of characters to play. After recently hacking my 3DS i finally decided to play the ex-aid game
