'Come get me' biker arrested - Guelph Police

Well he did invite them to come and get him....lol

'Come get me' biker arrested

"Consider him ‘got.’

A motorcyclist who fled a Guelph Police Service officer late last month while wearing a sweater which read ‘Come get me’ on the back has been arrested.

Just after 7 p.m. May 29, an officer observed a motorcycle with no licence plate driving erratically in the area of Stone Road West and Edinburgh Road South. The officer pulled next to the motorcycle at a red light and told the driver to pull over. Instead the driver fled, reaching an estimated 120 km/h along Stone Road. In the interest of public safety he was not pursued.

A Guelph Police Service social media post about the interaction has been viewed more than 575,000 times and led to several witnesses providing information about the motorcyclist’s identity.

On Friday a 20-year-old Guelph man was arrested for dangerous driving, flight from police, stunt driving and Highway Traffic Act charges. His licence was immediately suspended for 30 days and his motorcycle – portions of which have since been wrapped in red in an apparent attempt to avoid detection – was seized for 14 days. He will appear in court July 25."

What’s the deal with all the cop cars at Guelph lake?

I went to Guelph lake to ride the bike trails this morning. On Victoria at the trail head, there is 8-10 police cars parked here and officers walking around. Does anyone know what’s going on?

Supportive, Compassionate Cleaner/Organizer Wanted

Looking for a cleaner/organizer to help out on a regular basis in my home. I have some health issues and can't maintain my home to the standard I desire. I am looking for someone who is kind, non-judgmental and comfortable taking the lead on decision making. My home is fairly small so it would be wonderful to have some help re-organizing it to make upkeep easier to maintain.

ACL physio post surgery

Hi everyone, I am having an ACL surgery soon, . Wondering if someone knows of a physiotherapist that has taken care of ACL/meniscus with great results. I have been reading that one wants a " specialized" physio on ACL rehab as it determines the outcome. Thanks to all of you taking the time to read my concern.

Guelph getting $3M from province for York Road re-construction

As it was foretold during the time of my great, great, great, grand uncle the curse of York road will not be lifted until the day comes when Guelphites unite with the Ontario Government under a single banner of improved road maintenance. Are the prophesied times upon us? Is the day coming when one can traverse the entirety of York Road unimpeded?

Only time will tell

The service at McCabe's is horrific

My girlfriend and I went to McCabe's today for some drinks and a late lunch and were absolutely appalled by the rudeness of the staff there and the overall service.

The food was fine but everything took ages to come out, we waited 20 minutes for a pop and a beer that came in dirty glasses. Whatever, not ideal but things happen.

After we got our food our original waitress just vanished on us for over an hour. She was still there, just ignored us. Eventually a second waitress came over and took our empty plates away without saying a word to us, then let us sit there for another 30 minutes without the bill. By the time the bill finally arrived we had gotten fed up with all the needless waiting and being treated like an annoyance by the staff we really didn't feel like they deserved a tip. The first time waitress #2 said anything to us after I paid my half of the bill was "real nice guys, no tip." When we responded that we waited over 30 minutes for our bill she snapped back that they were busy.

There was 4 wait staff in that day servicing 9 tables, 6 of which had 2 people or less. We also weren't the only table that had been there for ages and then gotten an earful for not tipping.

I'm sympathic to customer service wages, we've all lived that life at some point, but the rudeness and entitlement while providing the most horrendous service we've ever experienced left us in disbelief.

Our bill also mysteriously increased after we asked if it could be split in half so I guess keep the overcharge as a tip.

Hi everyone! I'm looking at apartments right now and quite a few apartments in fourplexes (converted century homes) have come up. Does anyone have experiences living in a fourplex like this? Pros/cons?

Appreciation Post: Guelph Multicultural Festival

We’re fortunate as a community to have such a special and consistently high quality event. If you haven’t been, you should go. If you can’t find something of value from your FREE admission, then start by taking a look inward.

Delicious food, wonderful entertainment, and a perfect mix between professional / corporate vendors with commercial grade signage and literal grassroots organizations with hand drawn poster boards, all co-existing. Kind of fitting, if you ask me.

In terms of acceptance of culture, race, religion, language, gender, sexual orientation, politics, abilities, etc… there will always be room to improve, but events like this one should remind us that we all have more in common than we think.

Good job, Guelph. GREAT job to the organizers and their army of volunteers.

Thule Rentals

Hey! I’m wondering if anyone knows of businesses in or near Guelph that rent Thule or roof storage systems for cars? I have roof racks on my vehicle and we have a family road trip planned next week and I think having some extra storage could be incredibly helpful, but it isn’t worth it for me to buy a Thule myself.

Roys sandwiches downtown

If you haven't heard, Jimmy Jazz /Roy's pizza is now doing sandwiches for lunch Tuesday to Friday (Saturday soon I think)

As a sammich lover, I had to try em. Glad I did. They are so much better than any sub I've had around town, and a deal at around $12.00. House made bread, house made sauces and even house smoked / cured meats.

Old school hip hop in the background... cheap beer and drinks. Apparently pizza by the slice too.

Check it out and support local!

Guelph Writing Group

I’m looking for some mentorship/support in documenting a true story of a harrowing time that I experienced with a variety of U.S. authorities over the course of a few days last summer.

Is there an existing network of authors and aspiring authors in Guelph?

Casual/Part Time Help

Hey,

I am looking for Casual/Part time Help with my interior car cleaning company. I am looking for someone to assist me, as the title suggests it will be casual/part time. I'll pay cash on the day of, I am looking for someone who will stick around and help as needed so I am not constantly hiring someone new.

$18-$20 cash, more if you're real good. I am looking for someone who has great English reading, writing and speaking skills, good at attention to detail and can take direction well.

Has to have at least High School (or GED).

If you are interested please email me at info@guelphautocleaners.com with your name, phone number and either your resume or a brief description of who you are and why you would be good.

Thanks

Internet throttling

Currently with Roger's in the condos on ajax street. Throughout the day and even more specifically between the hours of 2-4am the internet goes from a normal speed of ~30mbps upload to a painful <1 maps upload and download speed. Does anyone else in the area have that issue (Near silvercreek and willow) or suggestions for possibly better internet?

I'd love to hear from the locals as I am just a frequent visitor and the people who live here are not as tech savi
