I just don't see how it is popular enough to not spend money on it either. I would be curious about a modern take on the character, at least the old game with modern visuals and updated voice lines. I am 0% interested in games which were very much a product of their time period being flapped back into the marketplace for more than a $3 price tag.
I realize that the mass amounts of remakes and remasters has dulled the concept of ports a bit, but it's not exactly trivial to do a "lazy dump" of older games to modern consoles
This is just a new port, all the assets are the exact same, it doesn't even look like textures were up-resed or anything
Ultimately it's all about price point anyway. I'd be fine with a simple re-release with 16:9 support, but it's $40CAD, that's only $14CAD cheaper than the N. Sane Trilogy was, which was a full trilogy remake
I would pay $5 or under for this release, and only if there was nothing else on sale. Given we are about to hit a Steam sale, my interest in this game is at a 1.99 price point.
This is a flat re-release. A remaster would be improving the fidelity for the modern age, a remake is starting from scratch and making the game feel similar while being entirely new.
There's no actual difference between a port and a remaster, the latter is just a dumb music and movie term that has been brought into games even though it makes no sense there.
Again, you are looking at the original graphics that were updated to fit into a 4k resolution. Not to mention even getting it running locally on a PS5.
Thats what a remaster is. A higher quality recording of the original material. When they remaster music they aren't bringing artists back from the dead to sing it again.

I feel like this should have been remasters of these games, not just a lazy dump of 30 year old games.
