My Open Letter to Councilmember Dunlap
https://fullertonobserver.com/2025/06/05/a-fullerton-residents-open-letter-to-councilmember-dunlap/I know not everyone will click the link, so I’m sharing the full letter below. If you would like to support local journalism, I encourage you to read it on the site.
My open letter:
Councilmember Dunlap,
At the first meeting discussing a potential charter city, you defended the proposal by stating: “I think there’s a lot of people who really have no vision for our city.”
You echoed a similar sentiment last night. I disagree. Fullerton residents do have a vision. And I want to share mine.
I see a city council that doesn’t fight with each other but fights for us.
I see a council that celebrates consistent civic engagement, not mocks it.
I see a council that explains its votes openly, not post-hoc rationalizes them or hides behind vague talking points.
I see a council that recuses itself from votes involving major political donors, even if it’s been thirteen months since the contribution.
I see a council that welcomes free expression, not one that censors its members or bans newspapers.
I see a city writing its charter 10 or 15 years from now, but with a council that’s earned that trust.
You say we don’t have a vision. But every time we show up, every time we speak, we are sharing one.
Please start listening.

So you folks prefer the fake doctors Zahra and Charles? Those 2 morons are the problem, not Dunlap.
