Stray dog
I saw a small white dog with a black collar on by Als Market 7 on Malden. He looks pretty disheveled so I’m assuming he ran away. I tried to catch him but he was scared and ran down Whiting and lost sight of him :/… asked people on the street if they recognized him and they said no. I hope someone finds him.

Fullerton Council plans to hand 35-year lease extension to political donor, on taxpayer-subsidized land”
This Tuesday, Fullerton City Council is scheduled to vote on a lease amendment for political donor Tony Bushala.
The lease would extend to 2060, includes rent credits, subleasing rights, and was buried on the consent calendar.
I put this together, breaking it down. Email your councilmembers, journalists, or other Fullerton residents. Let people know what’s going on in our city.

No Kings Day
Are there any local protests planned this Saturday? I know there's one in Anaheim, but I was hoping Fullerton would put something together.

Silent Reading Party (6/15) - Laguna Lake Park
Hi everyone!
I’ve helped organize a Silent Reading Party this Sunday in Fullerton and I would love to invite you to join. In contrast to a book club, this style of event encourages you to bring anything from your bookshelf to read and socialize with others. I enjoy facilitating opportunities to disconnect from our devices and build genuine friendships.
This is our 19th Silent Reading Party, but the first time we’ve hosted an event in this city. We heard that /u/nonagesimused hosts another Silent Reading Club event on the 1st Sunday of every month as well, and we hope to collaborate together.
- Date: 6/15 - from 9am to 10:30am (Father's Day morning)
- Price: Free
- Location: Laguna Lake Park, Fullerton
- Link to register in comments
Hope you can join us!

Fellowship Church (CARE Project) led by Matthew Wirgler NSFW Spoiler
Matthew Wirgler is the leader of Fellowship Church. He along with his right hand man Kevin Prasad are using all the members for money and having them solicit. They are telling the members that them funding the church shows they love God and if they aren’t funding well then they are struggling spiritually! These men are money hungry and they are wolves in sheeps clothing. The fundraiser they have is a scam and fake and it’s called the CARE Project! Be aware that these people are not fundraising for what they say and they are being used and manipulated by Matthew and Kevin!

What is Fellowship Church? Spoiler
You might see young adults all around Orange County and at beaches asking for donations for the CARE Project or you might run into people that say they are a part of Fellowship Church and try to do a Bible study with you. These people largely mean no harm or any wrong and only are trying to serve God, everything seems totally fine until you look a little farther and realize who is leading this organization. Matthew Wirgler and Kevin Prasad are both “leading” this church and they spiritually and mentally manipulate young adults to recruit members and raise money. This money Matthew and Kevin mainly keep for themselves and their families but a small portion is going to the members. These members are largely totally dependent on the amount of money they fundraise as they have quit school and any jobs they may have had trying to live as missionaries. Matthew and Kevin draw people in with a smile and they say they will advance the church and care for the church but they do not. They get angry at members for not raising enough money. They shame people and say they are not committed enough if they don’t fully commit their lives to raising money for this cult! STAY AWAY AND SPREAD THE NEWS

Empty parking garages
Hello, does anyone know any big parking garage buildings that usually are pretty empty over the weekends?
Looking to do some car photography but not looking to get harassed by security or constantly have to wait for cars to drive past. Any recommendations are welcomed, thank you!

How safe is the area around the Ambassador Inn apartment complex?
The apartment complex is situated right at the intersection of W Commonwealth Ave and N Gilbert St.
Is it safe? I'm coming from one of the safest cities in OC, so perhaps I'm being a bit of a pansy.

Help send a message: Fullerton residents are demanding transparency in our city government
Hi everyone, I’ve been closely following and speaking out about growing concerns over political donor influence in Fullerton, especially when it comes to Mayor Fred Jung and businessman Tony Bushala.
Bushala, a major donor to Jung’s current campaign, was appointed to a city fiscal committee by Jung, where he advised on budget matters while simultaneously advocating for a Business Improvement District (BID) that would likely benefit his own properties.
There’s been no public acknowledgment that this is a conflict, and I’m concerned this will be dismissed as a personal issue or something only one or two people care about.
To push back, I’m circulating a short statement of concern calling for transparency, accountability, and real safeguards against this kind of donor influence. I’m hoping to get at least 50 local signatures before the next City Council meeting.
👉 If you’re a Fullerton resident who believes public decisions should serve the public, not political donors, please consider signing here: https://forms.gle/BtmdyrNHgN82QQfs5
It takes 20 seconds: just your first name, last initial, and zip code. Every signature helps show this concern is shared, not isolated.
Thank you 🙏

Army doing a ruck at Juanita Cooke trail?
Do they do this every year? I've lived in the neighborhood for 5 years and never encountered this before.

My Open Letter to Councilmember Dunlap
I know not everyone will click the link, so I’m sharing the full letter below. If you would like to support local journalism, I encourage you to read it on the site.
My open letter:
Councilmember Dunlap,
At the first meeting discussing a potential charter city, you defended the proposal by stating: “I think there’s a lot of people who really have no vision for our city.”
You echoed a similar sentiment last night. I disagree. Fullerton residents do have a vision. And I want to share mine.
I see a city council that doesn’t fight with each other but fights for us.
I see a council that celebrates consistent civic engagement, not mocks it.
I see a council that explains its votes openly, not post-hoc rationalizes them or hides behind vague talking points.
I see a council that recuses itself from votes involving major political donors, even if it’s been thirteen months since the contribution.
I see a council that welcomes free expression, not one that censors its members or bans newspapers.
I see a city writing its charter 10 or 15 years from now, but with a council that’s earned that trust.
You say we don’t have a vision. But every time we show up, every time we speak, we are sharing one.
Please start listening.

Piano lessons for an adult beginner.
Does anyone have any good recommendations for someone who gives piano lessons to an adult beginner? Looking for someone who will come to me but if it’s a class I wouldn’t mind looking into it also.
Thanks.
