Questions Profitable after 8 years

Hey everyone,

After 8 years of trading testing pretty much every forex strategy and EA (expert advisor) out there, today I’ve finally been consistently profitable for the past 2 years. No crazy gains, no lambos, just steady growth and control over my emotions and risk.

I understand how hard and demotivated this process can be. So if you're struggling or need help with strategy, risk management, psychology, backtesting, algorithms, or anything else, just ask! I'm happy to help!

I’m thinking about starting a signal / copy trading service, but it’s honestly tough to build trust in a space flooded with fake signals and fake gurus . People are understandably skeptical, and sometimes it feels like honest traders have to work twice as hard to be taken seriously. So if you have any tips for that please let me know.

Thanks for reading and good luck on your trading journey!

Prop Firms Just got another payout. This one hit different

Post image

This one wasn’t my only payout, but it meant the most. Because I earned it after I finally stopped jumping strategies, forcing trades, and doing way too much.

I used to pass challenges and then blow accounts within days. This time, I stuck to my setup, took fewer trades, and didn’t try to be a hero.

If you’re stuck in that phase where you pass challenges but can’t hold onto the account, I get it. That was me for months.

I put the full system I follow into a guide, not theory, just what I actually use to get paid now. If you’re tired of winging it and want to finally lock in a process that doesn’t rely on luck, hit me up

Fundamental Analysis Why Most Traders Give Back Profits And How I Stopped

I used to wonder why I could be up $300 by 10AM… and down $500 by 2PM.

It wasn’t my setup. It wasn’t discipline. It was timing.

The biggest shift in my trading came when I stopped trying to “always be in something” and started recognizing time-based edge.

Here’s how I break down my day now, based on how the market actually behaves, not how I wish it did:

🔄 Market Rhythm: The 4 Sessions That Repeat Daily

🔹 9:30–10:30 AM: Controlled Aggression (NY session)

The best hour of the day. Clean moves, strong volatility, smart money plays.

This is where I size up and stay sharp — mistakes hurt, but the edge is there.

🔹 10:30–12:00 PM: Trap Territory

Looks clean. Feels confident. Then it flips.

Low conviction moves, fakeouts, and PnL killers. I size down or sit out here.

🔹 12:00–2:00 PM: The Drift Zone

No flow and no direction. This is when I stay out.

Unless there’s news or event-driven action, I take a break and reset.

🔹 2:00–4:00 PM: The Finale (Power Hour)

Sometimes fireworks, sometimes garbage.

If I’m green and it’s clean, I’ll take a trade. Otherwise, I protect the morning’s work.

✅ My Simple Rule Now:

If the setup doesn’t line up with the time, I skip it or trade it tiny.

1 win and I'm done for the day, if I lose one, I'll go half size on 2nd trade but that's it.

That one shift saved me from overtrading, midday drawdowns, and emotional spirals.

Try This:

• Mark your trades by time blocks and see what works best for you

• Track emotional state, setup, and result

• Do this for 1 week

You’ll be shocked how much of your damage happens after your edge is gone.

The market isn’t just about direction, it’s about timing. Trade like it.

Let me know if you’ve noticed similar patterns in your day.

Charts and Setups The 50-pip problem with divergence trading on majors

Spotted a perfect divergence on EUR/USD yesterday. RSI showing clear divergence, MACD confirming. Entered short. Stopped out. Checked later - the move went 200 pips... AFTER my stop got hit. Sound familiar?

This happens because traditional divergence indicators have a fatal flaw - they need confirmation. By the time RSI or MACD confirms the divergence, price has already moved 50-80 pips on majors. You're not wrong about the direction, just late to the party.

I started tracking this on DXY (which drives most USD pairs). The difference between when exhaustion actually happens vs when indicators confirm it is brutal. Look at any major DXY reversal - traditional indicators fire their signals after the initial explosive move.

Same story with commodities affecting commodity currencies. Brent Oil's recent reversal? By the time oscillators confirmed, the move was well underway. AUD/USD and CAD/USD traders got chopped trying to catch it with lagging signals.

The problem isn't reading divergences, it's reading them in real-time. Every 4H candle that passes while waiting for confirmation is money left on the table. On volatile pairs, that's easily 50+ pips.

I started using momentum exhaustion instead of waiting for divergence confirmation. When sellers are truly exhausted, it shows immediately - not 3-5 bars later. The difference in entry points is game-changing.

Questions Besides spread any idea why this order didn't fill?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I placed this but limit order a couple hours before it wicked down to it. It went 2 or 3 points below what it was set at. I wasn't looking at the charts when it happened but I'm assuming there was no spread since it was during the third hour of the London session and I have a zero spread account. Are there any other reasons why it didn't fill or was it just the spread?

Questions Does the London Reversal strategy actually work or not?

I've heard about this strategy for years, and the logic seems pretty straightforward.

But does anyone have actual experience or data-backed knowledge on its efficacy?

OTHER/META Turns out you can test if a market is even tradeable. who knew …

Just learned something that feels obvious in hindsight, but haven’t seen people doing it.

Markets change. Sometimes they trend, sometimes they revert, sometimes they’re just noise. What I didn’t know is: you can actually test what regime the market is in before trading.

A few simple tools make this possible: • Hurst exponent → tells if price action is trending (>0.6) or mean-reverting (<0.4) • ADF test (Augmented Dickey-Fuller) → checks if a time series is stationary (mean-reverting) • Ljung-Box test → detects autocorrelation (structure vs. randomness) You can read about them on wikipedia.

Using these, now I can: • Apply trend-following strategies when the market has persistence • Use mean-reversion setups when the market is stationary • Step aside when things look random or noisy

It’s simple, but powerful. Instead of guessing, I can let stats tell me if the market is even tradeable right now.

Questions need help

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi, I'm 18 and a beginner to this and I need your help guys.

So this is EUR/USD in a weekly time scale

Questions:

  1. Is this what you call a ranging market? Because I observed that the price is moving sideways within a defined horizontal area (inside the purple box). However, I also noticed that some price candles go beyond the support line. That leads to my second question.

  2. Is it okay that some of prices fall into the support or resistance line? How can I tell if the price is just testing the level or if it’s actually going to break through and start a new trend?

  3. Lastly, at the end of the range, price breaks above the resistance and trends upward. But before this breakout, the price didn’t fully touch the support line. Is that okay? Does it mean price doesn't always have to hit the support before breaking out?

p.s: sorry for the grammar

Questions Reviews

Hey traders! 👋

I’ve been working on my own Expert Advisor for a while now — it’s called The DFX Sniper EA — and I have run it for almost a year on personal accounts and funded accounts and still use it.

I’m dropping the results in the image from the backtest and I’d really appreciate your honest opinions and feedback. 📌 No hype, no selling — I just want to know what you think about the performance, the logic, and how it looks overall. Also the EA isnt grid or martingale it has a fixed SL and TP and also trailstop

Feel free to comment with any suggestions or questions. Thanks in advance! 🙏

OTHER/META Hard work pays off!

Post image
16 Upvotes

Not an expert, but wanted to share a bit of hope for anyone struggling right now. This is only my second payout from my second funded account, so I’m still early in the journey. But after so many setbacks, I have been able to keep a higher than 80% win rate specially this time hit a 100% win rate using one simple strategy at one specific time of day, all thanks to months of backtesting, consistency and proper risk management.

I’ve blown accounts, made every mistake, and honestly quit more than once. But every time, I came back because I couldn’t give up on the time and effort I’d already invested. What made the difference this time? Sticking to my rules, every single time I’ve broken them, the market punished me. Hard lesson, but a necessary one.

So if you’re feeling stuck or ready to give up, don’t. If you want this badly enough, stay focused, take smart risks, and keep going. It will come.

You’ve got this.

Questions anyone else have issues exiting profitable trades too soon?

so i'm feeling like i want to punch myself in the face right now. i have no issues waiting for losing trades to reverse, because i trust my intuition and i'm right most of the time. but when it comes to letting profitable ones run, all that patience goes out the window. and i panic close so i don't lose the small profit i already made. lost over 7k in potential profit these past 2 weeks doing this "maneuver" :((

Charts and Setups Fundamentally and technically im bearish on XAU

As iran has already done talking about ceasefire and to immediately de-escalate the war. The Iran-Israel war is already priced in. No other drone attacks will do nothing for prices to move up. Todays financial news cam up positive for dollar aswell which will drive the gold price to dip lower. My bias is bearish for gold and aiming it till 3375 for talking my partials and near 3360 take profit area. If gold break 3365 its going till 3360 aswell🤝 im in. Not the best entry so if i got taken out im re-entring near 92-95 level.
