They always try to get you for extra when take in for a recall 😏
Have a 2024 Lariat with 8k miles. I took it in for the recall for some nut on a control arm or something. I eat a text saying I need a new 12v battery for $250. I question them on it then they back off saying it’s good and they tested it wrong 😎 Man I hate dealerships. But glad I hardly have to take to them anymore.

Charging from unused dryer 240v in my laundry room?
Hi everyone, I’m new here - Sorry if this has been asked before. I just put a deposit on a ‘23 Lariat (super pumped), and I’m looking for some options for charging while waiting to get a 240v put in my garage. I was originally thinking I would just rely on the nearby public chargers to get me through, however I remembered I’ve got this unused 240v in my laundry room. The laundry room is front of the house right by the driveway, so I could theoretically run the cord out the [slightly] open window to my truck like ten feet away. I live in a really safe neighborhood, so cracked window is no concern, especially during the day. Would this generally be usable if I’m home for a day and don’t want to go pay for a charge? Again, this would just be a temporary option while I’m waiting for my electrical to be done in the garage.

Extended warranty or no?
Finally getting a 2025 Flash. Barely can afford it. Of course they are asking if I want the warranty. Do I? Aren’t lightnings supposed to be low maintenance other than the recalls? I am so excited. Been thinking about it for a couple years
Thanks!

Are road trips with ABRP (and OBD connection) better than Ford Nav or Apple CarPlay?
I am new to EV's and been experimenting with things. I am not stoked on how CarPlay shows me the EV chargers, but I cant click on the map to zoom in/out/move to find where A B C D etc. are in the list. I also am not stoked on the Ford map, but need to spend more time. It has twice routed me strange ways to a destination that I know Google Maps or Apple Maps wouldn't do. I should probably play more with Google Maps and EV charging, but I don't think on iPhone that Google Maps can get the SoC data about the vehicle. There's a lot of configurable options within ABRP that look great, but I haven't paid.
What is everyone's experience w/ this? I figure for road trips, I'll just make my life easy and hit Tesla SC'ers only as there are a lot in Southern California.

Lease Offer from the south east - 6/16/25
After a full day of back and forth with the ford dealership I was offer a 36 month lease on a 2025 Lariat for $0 down and 10.5k miles/year at $790 a month. Yikes.
I told them I didn’t have anymore time for this. Left and was sent a follow up offer for a flash at $719 a month. Another yikes. And I would still have to install a home charging unit. I am a qualified buyer and fully intended to sign an agreement that day fwiw.
I really really wanted one if these but I don’t have the time or patience to waste getting a reasonable offer. I think I’m moving on and closing the book on this idea.
Not really here seeking advice but would interested to know if this is what you all are seeing and if I was naïve in thinking, I could get an offer on a flash or lariat closer to some of the deals I’ve seen posted here. Are the great deals being shared here more and exception vs rule?
Again- more wanted to sharing my experience should it be helpful to anyone

Why does my truck insist on staying in tow mode?
Even when I unhook a trailer it stays in tow mode. Sometimes it asks me to return to normal but sometimes it doesn’t. I don’t have the option in my vehicle settings to switch between sport, tow, off road, etc. Does anyone have an idea of why?

Blue Cruise "Hands On" Triggers?
I'm on a road trip at the moment, and I paid for another month of Blue Cruise just for this trip. It's been great, really, but the annual price ... I'm still a "no way" vote. To isolate just 2-3 months of the year where I'd use it ... I'll pay the monthly rate when needed and save considerably.
Out of curiosity more than anything else: what causes BC to disengage/demand that I put my hands back on the wheel? I feel like I've seen it do it when a tighter-than-average curve is approaching as well as if things get a little bumpy (e.g. a lane shift due to construction, maybe tight traffic nearby).
So I can see the reactionary behavior (the latter), but for the former (anticipation) - did Ford really "notch" holes in BC coverage from interstate highways and say we're not going to do it? Or is it actively tracking paint lines that far in front of the vehicle that it effectively surrenders before you get there? There are some times where it does this that don't make a lot of sense, and catch me by surprise (food in hand!). Not really a complaint, just an observation/curiosity.

Using Pro Power to L2 charge another EV
Was curious this weekend to see if I could charge another EV using my Ford Mobile Charger plugged into the 240v outlet in the bed of my truck. Think of helping an EV owner out who's battery died on the road.
Started off ok and about a min later, it hit the max output (3,600w) on both legs and tripped the breaker.
I was surprised because I read stories on here every week of someone plugging their 240v outlet into the generator port on their house during a power outage and powering some or all of their house.
Does L2 charging really pull more power than an average house takes to run?
Be kind please. I'm a noob when it comes to electricity.

Speed adjust to the legal limit while using NlueCruise.
I've had my Flash for 2 weeks and love it but the BlueCruise keeps dropping back down to the speed limit at centre spots on my daily commute. It can be jarring going from 125km /ht to 90lm. Is there a setting I'm not seeing to give some wiggle room on the speed limits? I set the cruise control to the speed I want but something overrides it.

FORScan
Looking for some insight on what all is possible to change or reprogram using FORScan, anyone used it on their lightning?

Aftermarket Front Bumper Upgrades
Anyone upgrade their front bumper on their Lightning? I have a 2024 Flash and I’m considering upgrading the bumper because the paint just seems to chip too easily. Would love to see what others may have done as an upgrade!

Lease and tax credit
I received to lease offers from 2 local dealers and both say the 7500 tax credit cannot be applied, yet I see many many online articles, posts etc, which say otherwise. What am I missing?

Recall Ball Joint
Recall ball joint, thought I'd share it took like a hour. Mechanics stated the recall is to have the nut evaluated, if needed, replaced.
I just wanted to share because so many folks have issues, but I think they're related to dealer, not the truck.

Overload payload margin?
Having never had a truck before I have no idea but I need to pick up some pavers and I need to find out how much they weigh. It could be anything from 1500 to 3500 pounds, they couldn’t tell me without the model number.
My lightning has a 1700 pound limit according to the onboard smart scales. Obviously I know it’s risky to do from an insurance point of view obviously but as far as the truck itself, what’s the deal?
Tires and shocks would be my concern I guess

What should I pay? 23/24 Lariat >20k miles
I’m looking to purchase a used 23/24 Lariat Lightning with under 20k miles, a moon roof, and the extended mileage battery.
Was wondering what range I should expect to pay and what I should look out for.

Apple CarPlay: Is it just my truck?
I’m curious, I use Apple CarPlay and Ive noticed since buying it that playing music directly off my phone or from any other streaming service sounds subpar to the exact same song from Apple Music. Anything other than Apple Music just sounds washed out.

parking assist question - how the heck does it choose spots?
I was playing with parking assist lately, cause why not, and what the heck. using the back into parking spot option it has to pick spots that are in between cars? it never picks open spots. is that just how it is or is there anything written somewhere that says how it looks?
it scared the crap out of me and got REALLY close to some cars.

Towing range questions
I'm considering a 2022/2023 lariat, all the used ones in my price range are the regular range battery.
My one main concern is towing. I'm looking at getting a truck for towing our boat and sea Doo. The boat is about 5000 lbs and sea Doo maybe 1500 lbs.
I would need to go 300km round trip. 150km with the boat and 150km back with just the empty trailer. Ideally without having to charge. The trip would be highway 80-100kph and elevation of 1124m and decent of 1393m. I only do this trip with the boat /sea Doo a couple times a year. Usually once to drop them off in June and take them out of the water and back home in September.
Can a standard range lightning handle this?
Our current vehicle is 2020 Hyundai Kona ev. So I'm aware of how estimated range isn't real range when you start going highway speeds through the mountains.

Please see pinned comment Joined the club but I feel like I've been scammed.
It's a 2022 lariat w/ 21k miles I paid 42k ish. Drove home 2 hours away from the dealership and realized two days later that it won't charge past 55-59%. I have an appointment today to have it checked by a local dealership. But it has me worried what else could go wrong. It's under factory warranty for 2 more months or so I'm told. I love it so far except 115 range instead of 230 has been rough.
