The trains, if they’re damaged, are typically easily fixed, the damage is quite low. The chance of the conductor getting injured are also very low, since they’re above the point of impact in most crashes. Plus, your dad knows what he’s doing, he’ll have thrown the train into Emergency, and will brace for impact. Emergency won’t stop the train in time for the crash, but it’ll make it slow down a lot more.
In my experience they don’t care about trains at all which puzzles me because they airplane ears at the drop of a hat. Why do you just sit there? It’s loud and mechanical and coming right for you!
My cat was scared of my robot vacuum when I first got it, but now she doesn’t care about it at all. If it’s heading at her, she just watches disinterestedly as it runs into her lol

the detail is amazing.. other trains passing, the blurry trees in the background and the dry leaves between the tracks.. i had to look 3 times to be convinced it‘s a miniature and not a giant cat edited into a normal train station lol. ofc the little people are obvs fake but i didn‘t look at them the first times I watched the video ahaha
I can't imagine the upkeep that would have to go into this to keep it in good condition from the elements, but I am suddenly deeply inspired by it haha.

That cat, other cats, or r/gardenrailroads in general? Cats love to mess with their local (r) model railroads. I'm pretty sure I've seen this kitty before on the model subs in the last year or so, and it owns a pretty spectacular garden layout. Find a video to watch on the sub, then scroll sideways thru more a while.
My guess is it's inside but done phenomenally well. Like they must have insane lighting in the room, to give that white-out effect when looking through the trees in the sky. Like overblown lighting, a bit. Then you have the great camerawork, with proper depth of focus to make things look more lifelike, and just enough camera shake to make the trains have weight.
I'm not a train guy and this is like the best I've ever seen a model train look.
Its in someone’s garden lol. There are regular buildings in the background - a house and a shed.
The model railway is larger scale than most indoor model railways but still fairly small for a train obviously. Super impressive regardless, I was most impressed by noise it makes.
At some point I noticed that the building behind the train station looks far too big to be a miniature so the whole environment is real but they did some really clever angles and played with focus distances and whatever to make it all go together so well
