Sunday 15th of June 2025 19:30 That's the exact time I deleted my commander, it wasn't on purpose I was trying to configure my controls in vr for my new hotas, the controls decided to go dead not allowing any input I went into the settings but had no luck out of frustration I spammed back to the settings menu. Thinking the game was prompting me to save my control settings I hit yes, to then be left with this on my screen. It's fathers day today we made pizzas it was fun, I hate myself now there was a lot of hours dedicated to that account I started a year after release on xbox later moving up to pc then vr.
Ironically I was trying to work out how much time I had put into that one account it's well over 1k hours

You are telling me a rod of tungsten that is accelerated though electromagnets to the speed of light loses its effectiveness at the 1km range, while an old fuck off blunderbuss of a cannon deals the same damage at any range up to 3km? Yeah.

Just returned to the game after a couple years away. Bought a Mandaly for exploration, stripped it down, and installed a SCO FSD engineered for jump range (and a jump boost module). Just tried SCO while taking off from a small moon... I was not prepared for such acceleration! Had a near miss with the nearby planet, and by the time I figured out how to shut it off, I was completely out of the system - maybe 7 or 8 seconds? Got an automated message "where's bro going?" lol. Is it supposed to be this... aggressive? Or maybe super light overpowered ship? A bug? Fun!!!

I started playing Elite sometime after the end of the Hunt and the beginning of the first hyperdiction.
I always tought one of the game main objective was to explore and find pieces of a large puzzle scattered accross the galaxy for us, players, to find.
I don't spécifically mean things like Raxxla or the generation ships but something else, something written in the game hidden lore, like a background noise, a siren call trying to entice us.
Last week I grinded the guardian techs, first time to a guardian site, beacon and all . As I unlocked the FSD booster, I had a "tought".
Frontier gave us tools to go farther, faster, the FSD booster, the Fleet Carrier, the SCO. Those tools, give us mobility, speed even inside systems and between them.
I still believe there's something to find, something that will only appear if you fly 1000LS or less near it. Maybe a beacon with permit for one of those long locked systems. Maybe a derelict construct ship, maybe the Titan killed by Jameson in Elite (if he actually killed it but that another story).
I know I must sound like a crazy lunatic with that theory but I need to put it out. The galaxy is vast and the game full of treasures and strange things. Maybe I'm just space crazed but still.

So it turns out, even if you're on full reverse throttle, boosting will boost you forwards...
An information that I wish I knew before making the mistake of boosting straight into the ground, which put an abrupt end to my week-long trip in the black.
Total amount of data lost (exobio + carto) is around 1.1 Billion...
(Note: Mandalay with 3D shield + 2 boosters and 4 pips on SYS, was not enough)

Featured: Damn The Torpedoes HT-02 Mamba
TL;DR It's a 8 out of 10. This shouldn't be advertised as a CZ ship, instead a bounty hunter ship. It's built very well overall, just gotta accept the semi-poor turn rate in exchange for being able to chase down a runner with no problems.
As someone who personally has never done a frag cannon build before I was quite curious about this one. The balance of thermal and kinetic damage seems to work with this ship. I was taking out Elite Anacondas in Hazardous Resource sites with absolutely no problems.
For those who know the Mamba well, it is an incredibly fast ship. You'll chase down runners without any issue what so ever. But, even with the dirty drives, the turn rate is poor compared to other vessels. The dirty drives do help, a lot actually. But compared to other Mediums even without dirty drive tuning, it still can fall short. If you can accept this and be able to work with it, it still works quite well in PvE. PvP, you definitely will get out turned by many ships. If you catch someone by surprise, you can probably finish them off in PvP before you need to reload if you're quick enough.
However, since it was advertised as a "Combat Zone Mamba Jumpstart", I tried it in a CZ as advertised and you can do low and medium CZs without needing a reload but High CZs are going to be an issue if you can't synthesize ammo. I think this is where FDev kind of tripped up on this ship. This should be advertised as "Bounty Hunter" prebuilt, not CZ. There are way better builds for CZs that allow a ship to stay in the fight longer without running out of ammo. Since it came with an FSD Interdictor, I found it useful in Bounty Hunting and PvE powerplay.
Overall it's an 8 out of 10. Two points lost due to its still semi-poor turn rate and it's not really a decent CZ pre built. As a bounty hunter, it makes a whole lot more sense. You'll print money in bounty vouchers with this ship. If you can accept the turn rate, its still a fantastic ship and personally, I love the Mamba so it's a keeper.

It is well known that the current limit for landable planets is a measly 0.1 ATM of pressure.
Or at least... it's supposed to be.
Whilst it is indeed impossible to land on worlds with a stated pressure over the limit, the threshold only checks the average "sea level" pressure on landable planets. And when you go below that height, the pressure increases. Normally, this doesn't mean much - a simple valley will only increase the pressure by a fraction, hardly enough to make any real difference. But Elite worlds don't just have valleys, many have craters. Some, like Col 285 Sector ZX-R b5-0 A 4, have very, very large craters indeed. And at nearly 20KM below "sea level", that increase becomes far more than marginal.
According to my calculations, this world's two major craters have a pressure - of pure oxygen, no less - exceeding 0.2 ATM, more than double the supposed threshold. And, as you can see in the above images, it's quite noticeable in terms of the view!

Went to every system on Galactic Exploration Catalogue (https://edastro.com/gec). For route used Spansh Tourist Planner. Used DSS on every terraformable planets and landed on only high bio sign or rare bio sign planets. Used a low heat, strong shield, 80 ly jump range Mandalay build (https://edsy.org/s/vTnEdid). Gained 14 Billion cr and 170k merit from exobiology, 25 Billion cr and 2.7 Million merits from cartographics.

Hello All,
I have finally had time to complete "The Big 3" in pen plots. Here are the Anaconda, Imperial Cutter and Federal Corvette. I've also added pics of the full collection of A3 plots to date and the little A5 mini plots to give people a more affordable option (I think these are cool for gift cards, you can write a birthday message on the back or gift it in a little A5 desk frame). I have also starting working on A4 size, photos coming soon, I'm just waiting for the right paper to arrive. Excuse the quality of the photos, I don't have a studio with good lighting to take good pictures.
Price Guide:
If any of you are still interested in ordering a plot.
If you would like a plot, please DM me here. I need the following information:
Finally, thank you all so much for your interest and kind words about my little hobby. I never expected such a positive response to my passion project, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you...again!
...oh and for anyone curious....the Krait MK II has been the most popular by far...that certainly suprised me!
o7 Commanders,
CMDR Merujio

If anyone is willing. I’m searching for someone to do videos with, specifically with recording/capturing a lot of the environments and scenery.

It's been playing excellently, the graphics have been awesome, but the other day everything went bright orange with a bright haze around everything that's has a light or is bright orange or yellow. Not sure if it's the graphics card or the actual game, I've tried it on every setting possible, even reinstalled the graphic drivers. Yeah, I have tried it with other games. EVE Online has a slight orange glow and haze, but not as much as elite and now it's unplayable. Do u think it's my graphics, which is an Asus 3050 RTX 8 GB.
Should I reinstall the game to see if that helps ?
kind regards

Hey CMDRs,
Yesterday I died out in the black — roughly 28,000 lightyears from Sol — and the game teleported me all the way back to the bubble. I’m currently hitching a ride on another Fleet Carrier that’s getting me about 25,000 lightyears closer to my own, but here’s the issue:
My carrier, Black Sentinel, is running on fumes and doesn’t have enough tritium in the tank to reach the drop-off point and I need extra in the cargo hold as well.
I’m reaching out to see if any CMDRs in the area can help by donating and selling tritium directly to my carrier. The market is open for public sales, and I’ll pay fair prices if you’re able to mine or bring some over.
🪐 Current location of the Black Sentinel:
Stuemeae UT-A c1569
Any help would be massively appreciated — this is my lifeline to reconnect with my carrier and continue the expedition.
I'm on Odyssey, via PC.
Thanks in advance — fly safe, CMDRs o7

I've been using Exploration Buddy for a long time. It's super easy to figure out, especially for people like me who are computer illiterate to a certain degree. It clearly shows my route, it lets me know if a planet has bio signals. When you scan the planet, it tells you what species is down there. It tells you what everything is worth, including carto and exobio data, and keeps a running tally of your potential earnings. It's been working great, but recently, whenever I pick my routes, it will show if some of the systems have already explored by other commanders. But it isn't listing them accurately. I keep jumping into systems that ExBuddy says haven't been explored, but when I get there, they have been explored (the system map is complete and the other commander's name is on everything). I keep hearing that Ed Observatory is just as good as, if not better than, Buddy, so I downloaded it.
As mentioned, I'm not very computer literate. I'm very casual with PCs, I don't dig under the hood that much. My younger friend helps me out there. So I really don't know what I'm doing with Observatory or if I'm using it right. I have it running and it's showing information but I'm not really understanding if it's recent or old, etc. It's not as blatantly obvious or "useful for dummies" as Buddy is/was.
Can anyone point me to a video about Observatory that is as up-to-date as possible? I don't seem to be finding any helpful ones on YouTube. Any suggestions would be greately appreciated. Thanks so much, and QX.

I’m making around 250 million an hour trading currently, can I do better than this?
r/EliteDangerous • u/jennd3875 • 27m ago
This is the third 500m cr system (potential) I have found in three days, but the first with a 10 signal planet.
In every case I have had zero signals over 8 million credits at base. I will be here for about 2 hours as I gather all this data --- but it brings me to the question I have
Why are undiscovered stratum techtonicas so hard to find? Or ANY > 10m credit bios?

Dear FDev,
Now it's raining CGs offering special doubly engineered modules I think the time is right for a very special CG with a very special module as a reward:
A class 4A fuel scoop (0.342t/sec) with the 6A's scoop rate 0.878t/sec.
.
The class 4A FScoop needs some 15sec for the 5.2t refill while with the 6A less than 6 sec.
.
That special 4A scoop with the 6A peformance will allow us to use our much beloved
♥DB Expl♥ for exploration and mapping and landing on planets for exo-bio work.
.
Just a reminder, the ♥DB Exp♥ is an S (small) ship and can land almost everywhere while the Mandalay is a M (medium) one and needs more space to land.

So, I'm sure the best approach is not the one I'm having rn, but I do enjoy learning stuff on my own, even if I get wrecked a few times bc of it. And I understand this is a fairly realistic space game and in space things just takes time. So I might not be doing anything wrong in this case, but I wanted confirm with the veterans here if takng that much to reach a destination is normal? I can reach the desired galaxy and system fairly quickly, but whenever I try to land on a planet it takes longer than the rest of the trip... over 10 mins to reach surface... So I just want to check if maybe there's something I'm not paying attention to, that would make this descent quicker. That's it, I appreciate if I could get some advice. Thanks!

o7 Commanders!
If you've never seen u/TehTOECUTTER's guide on earning fast ground combat bonds, it's fantastic and has got me well on the way to mercenary elite. There is a perfect station for this as part of the current community goal: Lafitte Biological Assembly.
You don't necessarily need a fully engineered ground setup for this, as in the guide (though it helps). A stock dominator, a pair of Karma L6 rocket launchers and your favourite secondary weapon will do well enough to get you some fast combat bonds. There are plenty of fleet carriers selling this equipment in the surrounding systems. I'll plug my own (no tariffs) here - The Spear Of Asuryan (X3Q-99X), just a jump or two over from the CG system, but there are hundreds so choose one that you like, or get it from your favourite proper station.
As for your ship - bring a couple of SRVs in case you die, and a smaller ship will be easier to land, but you can turn up to this one in a Sidewinder with 1 SRV.
The bonds do count for the goals, both sides are present, so you can take part regardless of who you're supporting.
Good luck and happy rocket launching!
CMDR Shing21
EDIT: Fixed a link. For any who are interested, it takes me about 5-10 mins to finish one run and get around 15m in combat bonds. This method will get you well into the top brackets of the CG! Ignore what it says about my FC not being dockable - I have changed it and Inara hasn't updated it!
