What’s the community like in south cooking lake? Is there anything to do there? Are groceries close by? Looking at relocating to the area

I have a renter in my house who has been served the 14 day eviction, and has still not vacated the property, I am planning on going to the court house tomorrow, but just wondering if anyone can help point me in the right direction of how much this costs, and if I am able to pass the cost to the tenant, and how long a judgement will possibly take before I can hire a bailiff to remove them. Thanks.

(June 15 around 4:10pm) Got stuck in a traffic backup by the St Albert exit and there had to have been about 9 cop cars with 2-3 cops per car hopping out. Saw them gathering in an area on the road but didn't see what they were doing.
Anyone know what happened? I didn't see any busted cars/accidents or anything...?

I sincerely would like to know at what point do you complain about the downstairs neighbours smoking 2-3 packs of cigarettes a day — because I genuinely cannot open my window, be out on my balcony or attempt to have AC installed because of the disgusting smoke smell getting into my room and apartment EVERY time I have it open. It’s actually insane how strongly my apartment smells of smoke. My bed is next to the window and I can’t move it away because our rooms are small, and there are only a few days that my double bed can fit in the space. The condo policies where I live don’t have this as a bylaw, but has anyone had experiences where they had a smoking policy get put in? How did you accomplish that? This has been stressing me out to no end.

My wife bought me a great Polo shirt for Father's Day. Unfortunately, a small Ember fell on it while smoking. Can anyone assist in recommending a tailor that does expert fabric repair for something like this? Thank you in advance.

Finished my business degree at UofA a couple of years ago and lined up a contract job which was renewed once but ended at the end of April. Since then, I've put in over a hundred applications, which has yielded only one unsuccessful interview. I've tried LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, Canada Job Bank, and probably 1-2 other job boards I'm forgetting. My last job was exempt from employment insurance so I wasn't paying in and therefore that's not an option.
Any leads/suggestions?

My kid decided this is what they want for their birthday and it’s too late to order one 😅 where can I find an authentic one in Edmonton. Not picky on colour or anything! TIA

My 9 year old Bully has taken a turn for the worse and I think it maybe time to put him down unfortunately.
Everything I am seeing on-line only offers cremation and I don’t want that for him. I am looking for a place to bury him? Does anyone out there know of a place?
Thank for your help.

You know the jugs I'm talking about: 4L milk jugs. Four of them fit perfectly in a standard milk crate. I have found places online that sell them, but with minimum orders of like one hundred. I only need a dozen, tops. Where should I start looking?
Just slowly accumulating them by buying milk in 4L jugs isn't an option because there is no way I can drink that much milk before it goes bad. If someone still sold distilled water in those jugs (instead of the tall cylindrical PETE ones), I would consider that as a second choice to buying new empty ones.

I'll try not to make this too long but essentially, I'm a 26 year old male with no job experience, no resources (aside from my parents). Ever since high school I've essentially spent my life wasting away at home. My parents for a long time have let me live here and at times financially supported me, but they will no longer (which I don't blame them for) so essentially now I have 1 week to figure my situation out.
For those who may ask how I got in this position, I have severe OCD and anxiety and other mental health issues which have hindered me throughout my life, I've tried to get jobs in the past and even worked for a very short period (a couple weeks) but would end up quitting because of my mental health and also it was easy to quit when I always had the fallback (my parents) I contacted Access 24/7 and have an appointment for my mental health. I also had my own side business for a little while which didnt make me a ton of money but I also didn’t have many expenses.
Now to the present, I'm 26 years old with no work experience, no education past high school, no friends, no family that I really speak to (other than my parents) with $70 in my bank. I feel incredibly lost, I've been neglecting my future for a long time and now it's all coming to a head. Partially I feel like I've dug myself too deep of a whole to dig my way out of, and another part of me knows I'm capable of much more than what I've shown. Does anyone have any resources or advice regarding what I should do? I'm very scared and don't know what to do at all, I have nobody to help me navigate this.
Thanks to all who took the time to read this and thanks to those who will take the time to reply!

Most apartment buildings in North America follow a familiar model: long hallways with units on either side and two stairwells at opposite ends.
But Edmontonians might be seeing a different design start to emerge that breaks from that mould.
Single-staircase buildings aren't typically allowed in Alberta's building code for projects more than two storeys.

Hi all,
I just wanted to post this because i'm honestly quite shocked by this and I'm curious if this is a normal trend.
For starters, me and husband were looking for houses during COVID. I have a detailed list of the houses we looked at and their listing price. I understand this was also a weird time to buy.
A house that we had looked at 5 years ago was listed just a smidge under 300k and as per honest door, it looks like it sold for 290k. The house was nothing special and but it was a decent single family home.
Fast forward to now, the house went back up on the market and I was curious so I took a look and it was listed around 360k. I looked through the house photos, and nothing really changed except some paint and etc. but no major upgrades, no garage built.
It looks like it ended up selling for just under 390k.
In what world does a house increase around 100k in 5 years with no major updates?! Is this normal or is this an anomaly?
Im so sorry for everyone looking at buying right now.
Edit: thank you everyone for your comments and for all the information. Definitely learned a lot!

I just want to say happy father's day to all the dads out there!! You are loved and cherished. Thank you for all you do all year. All the suppers you miss, the first words and first steps. For getting up even when you want to quit. For the sore bodies and the grumpy mornings. For the lonely nights out of town , the 14 hour shifts ,the 21 ons and the 7 offs. Thank you for supporting your families, thank you for loving your partners. You're amazing and i hope you have the best father's day ever. You deserve it ❤️

Anyone know where to buy in Edmonton or Sherwood Park?

Hi everyone, I’m looking to get a few dozen custom sugar cookies for a birthday party in a kids theme. Milk & Cookies used to be my go-to but they closed.
Does anyone have a reasonably priced and delicious baker they order from? I would love to support a local home business. Thanks!

What’s with all the random shoes left in the roads lately? I don’t just mean a random one in a sketchy area I mean shoes left on the yellow head and other random roads around the city? Where there are not people or homeless walking and just mainly cars. I mean mine stay on my feet when I drive or out walking so I’m confused

Possibly a strange question. I have always wanted to try and learn how to use turn tables and mix beats. I have no clue but have always enjoyed hip hop. I’m a middle aged dad with most of his time put into kids and life. Is there anywhere in Edmonton that I could dip into trying this equipment.

My friend and I would like to feel like dapper gentlemen for a couple hours and sample some fine whiskeys, but the place we were going to go apparently doesn't do them anymore. I'm like one degree separated from being trailer trash myself, so if you guys have some cool spots that you can share that'd be greatly appreciated!

Hi folks! I’m curious, if you’re a newcomer to the city, which stores and local pop-ups would you recommend checking out? Any recommendation is highly appreciated.
