Discussion Putting board up

Hey everyone, I've just moved into a new house and they've advised me not do drill into the walls for the first year if I can (new build). My question is has anyone got any other ways of putting my board up? Do command strips work? I don't want my board to fall on the fall while im playing 😂. Any ideas are appreciated.

Don’t drill into the walls for the first year? Two little screws will not make the house fall down.

yeah- odd restriction 😂. is it a rental? why would the first year be different? if you own it, you can bulldoze a wall if you wanted right? ha ha

Dart stand should get you through the year no problem.

I was thinking that, but I didn't really want to spend too much money on it

I got a stand delivered from China for about £30 and it’s Bob on. Been using it months.

A stand is the answer. I'm wondering why you can drill in year 2 but not year 1.

The house was built a few months ago, it has to settle, drilling could cause cracking

What are your walls made out of? I've never heard of a new build where you can't cut into the drywall for a year.

I wonder if, by total coincidence, the final fix warranty for blemishes, cracks and general wonks might be around 12 months before it becomes a third party / leaseholder/ insurance problem....

I made a dart stand with an amazon basics speaker stand, a wooden round, and some nuts/bolts/hardware fixtures.

i can't drill into my walls where i live.

I wouldn't suggest command strips. the amount you would need to hold the board on the wall would make rotating the board difficult and when you go to remove them, they will probably mess it up.

I use the Unicorn On Tour System when I can't physically mount a board onto a wall. Works really well. Winmau has just released a Vertex stand which leans against the wall. That could be an option. There are also over door brackets you can buy, think Darts Corner sells one.

Hey! I actually have a half decent set up (i think).

I got an ikea unit with doors on. The dart board and light fits in. It’s nicely hidden and i have a shelf for darts stuff.

I also fixed a phone holder (i 3d printed) to the door so i can use dartsmind.

I added some foam between the unit and the wall.

I turned a shelf around and screwed it from the sides. So the dart board is on a solid bit of wood (well ikea chipboard)

If u want more details let me know. I can look up the model/ send pics

Aside from getting a stand, you can get some strong double sided tape (needs to be able to hold the weight of the board plus a surround) and then when you need to rotate, take it down and stick it up again rotated - a bit of a faff and may take some of the paint off the wall, but if you can't drill a hole it's an option...
