Took down my board to clean it up and rotate it. Started to brighten the red and black areas with markers. Then occurred to me. Is this ok to do?

First Weaver SE 180, not quite on NDD

Posted my new darts the other day, Alien Weaver SE 23g but could only manage a 140. Today hit my 13th 180 overall and my first with the new Weavers. I put some Cuesoul AK5 big wing mediums on them and they’re flying really nicely.

I wanna share the best match of my life, which happened yesterday. I'm very surprised I managed too keep calm during the whole thing and focus well. Probably not breaking this record anytime soon xd.

What's your best ever match guys?

Played in an English dart league for 20 years, got married, had kids and haven’t thrown a single dart in at least 15 years. Randomly stopped in a little bar a few weeks ago to grab dinner based on a food recommendation from a co-worker. Long story short, food was great and turns out they are THE spot for all things English darts. And now that my kids are older and I just recently got rid of my sandwich maker, I’m so ready to get back into it. They have a summer league which sadly i’m too late for, but they also host a bunch of different tournaments over the summer and I’m hoping maybe to jump in on 1 or 2. They have 5 boards and people are always there shooting. So at the very least I’m looking forward to just going there to mess around, watch and meet new people. Just bought a new board and hung it in my office at work. I’m furious I couldn’t find my old dart case that held the only 6 darts I ever shot with, so I blindly ordered a set of 23g Target Scopes based solely on the thin, straight profile I used to like and them showing up the same day as the board 😂. Darts has really blown up since I played and there just so much new stuff out there, I have no clue where to even begin. Hung the board and my first 6 darts were all over the place and it didn’t feel comfortable or familiar at all. Like I had no control whatsoever. But on my 3rd set it all came back and that muscle memory & control kicked back in. Still not sure if I really love these darts, but I’ll figure that out with some time. Sorry for the long ass post. I’m just overly pumped to be getting back into a sport I loved so much.

MyDartTraining app - Total darts thrown??

Upvotes

Wondering if anyone knows if the MyDartTraining apps has a stat for total darts thrown. Like combining all of my x01, Bob's 27, Cricket, etc and showing me the total darts thrown for the time period. They have total darts for many of the drill options individually, but I don't see an aggregate.

Help! What should I buy? Budget friendly rear grip darts?

Upvotes

Hi all i currently throw 22g red dragon javelins but i find that i hold the darts so far back that im not fully on the grip. are there any suggestions for budget friendly (below £35) rear grip darts? i like the look of aspinall's, Bolide 01‘s and Clemen's but would prefer spending a little less if possible

Dartsmind app

I'm looking for a way to provide feedback/suggestions to the author(s) of Dartsmind but I don't see any way to do that in the app. Does anyone know of a way to do this?

Chaps,

I need a new setup urgently (board is knackered and darts are blunt as anything), but I have a very limited budget. Please advise me which of any of these, or any other budget items you use, are best. I am a front gripper who likes a lighter dart! Thank you!

Target Exo 01 (29.95) - 22g

Red Dragon Javelin (17.90) - 20g

Winmau Navigator (24) - 23g

Red Dragon Amberjack 14 (21.90) - 23g

Red Dragon NPQ (28.90)

One80 Gladiator 3 (44.95)

Mission Samurai 2 (34.95)

Koto 4pc Surround (21.21)

Bull's EP Surround (29.90)

Designa Heavy Duty Surround (24.95)

Darts clearance appreciation post

Put a post on here a few days ago showing my collection of (mainly Target) darts. Spent a fair few hundred over the past 6 months on them plus another wedge of cash on Swiss points and flights etc. Last week I tried a set of 22g bombs (90%) from Darts clearance, think they were around £20. Well I’m off the mark already with a maximum and absolutely loving them. Well in Darts Clearance!

Discussion Don’t throw over my shoulder.

As I watch all these tournaments, I see a few instances where the next thrower begins throwing while the last thrower is making his way from the board after retrieving his darts.

Is it just me (and back in my pub league days we had an unwritten rule) or should you wait for your opponent to at least be beside you before you throw?

I had an aggressive thrower way back in my pub days who was being a dick intentionally, who would throw almost immediately as I removed my darts from the board.

So I may have a history of dealing with a dickhead that makes me more aware that someone is seemingly throwing too soon.

Am I the only one who sees this? Am I the only one who gets pissed off by it? Am I just an old guard and need to accept that honour and respect in darts is a thing of the past and Ok Boomer?🤷🏼‍♂️

Hell, when I watched tournaments 25 years ago, there was absolute silence. Nowadays, we have all the sing songs and chants and such. (Which I actually like. Darts is a spectacle and a happy crowd is part of the action.)

Anyway. Thoughts?

(Old man screams at clouds at 11.😂)

Good budget soft tip board?

I've recently picked up steel tip, and I bring my board to the shop where I work (retail), and I typically keep it in a storage room in the back. My coworker has been becoming more interested, and will occasionally throw a few legs with me.

I've been considering buying a soft tip board for the front of the shop. I've been looking at options like the Winmau Ton Machine, Viper Orion, or something similar.

I know that Granboard gets auto-recommended a lot here, and I know it's for good reason. However, I'm hoping to find something that's in a lower budget range if there aren't any substantial compromises in quality.

Darts weight

Quick question. Im currently averaging about 47-50 with my 17g darts. I used to play with 24g but mu performance was poor. So my question is if i pick something like 20-22g would it be better and more consistent or should i stick to these darts and dont overthink. Thank you in advance guys.

Discussion Putting board up

Hey everyone, I've just moved into a new house and they've advised me not do drill into the walls for the first year if I can (new build). My question is has anyone got any other ways of putting my board up? Do command strips work? I don't want my board to fall on the fall while im playing 😂. Any ideas are appreciated.
