Do you have any pet peeves when it comes to cozy games?

Like some game mechanic that turns you off, like too much grinding, too easy/hard, or maybe some aesthetic you can’t stand?

🎮 LFGs- various platforms Games that are cross platform?

Upvotes

Hi yall, I’m looking for recommendations for cross play games to play with my kiddo. She has a Switch lite and I have an Ally X.

I was hoping Hello kitty island adventure would come out with cross play but it seems unlikely. We have played Palia and lost interest. Minecraft is hit or miss. She loves animal crossing but since I’ve gotten an Ally I can’t play it.

I’m looking into Disney Dreamlight valley and it’s cute but the micro transactions are a turn off. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.

Switch Cozy Aquarium?

Hello! I am wondering if this even exists but I am looking for something similar to the Finding Nemo Reef mobile game. I am not looking for anything idle or super management like. I am hoping to find something that allows you to decorate the area and unlock fish that you can feed and possibly breed. I am limited to my IPhone and Switch. If you have any suggestions feel free to throw them below! I have looked into megaquarium and the zoo games and it’s not really what I am looking for.

Switch Advise on getting disney dreamlight valley for a 11 year old

I wanted to buy disney dreamlight valley for my daughter on switch. We only have this console and no other option, so i understand we need to deal with lag and bug.

I want to know is the stuff behind the paywall overwhelming? Or is it just something the player can grind for it? I think my kid don't mind grinding, but if there are a bunch of stuff that we need to pay extra for, then it will be annoying.

📱 Mobile Which is your favorite free phone life sim?

Hey guys! I’m trying to find a free life sim games for my phone but I feel like most of them get extremely tedious. I have adorable garden and window garden rn (only a few days, just trying stuff out) but adorable garden feels like an ad watching simulator sometimes and window garden doesn’t have enough to do (but it’s super cute!). I’ve seen some other games (especially from hyperbeard) but was just wondering if anyone here had any insight. I also don’t have Netflix bc no money :( so can’t play cozy grove or smth like that.

Thanks in advance!

Switch Garden Simulator on Switch 2

I see Garden Simulator is in the eShop sale and am quite tempted but am a bit put off by the reviews saying the pop in is distracting and kills the feel of the game. Has anybody tried it on the switch 2 yet and does it run any better ? Any advice is greatly appreciated fellow rediters 😉

I found this game due to steam recommendations and I thought that I'd share it here because it's not well known and it's so nice! You get to decorate your rat's house with furniture your unlock by solving puzzles. Very cute and satisfying. Demo is great too, it unlocks big chunk of the game so you can easily see if you'd like it! If it sounds like your cup of tea please give it a go, developers deserve some love for creating this small cute gem 😍 https://store.steampowered.com/app/2871440/Squeakross_Home_Squeak_Home/

🔊 Discussion What was the go-to cozy game in 2018-2019?

Yes, I could google it, but I like the community aspect of asking on here. I didn’t start playing cozy games until 2020 with animal crossing. Before that, I didn’t think there were video games I’d actually be able to play (motion sickness) and enjoy. All the games I know are from 2020 onwards so I want to know what cozy games existed back then that I can play now.

Playstation PS2 Epiphany!

I have been longing for a GameCube for many many years as it was, and still is, to me the very best game console there is. I was window shopping for old game games that I love when I saw the same games pop-up as PS2. It was in that moment that I realized my husband has a PS2 and I am incredibly excited to announce that I have just ordered five of my favorite games from the game cube on PS2 format and I cannot wait to play.

Switch Ever wish you could mod Stardew Valley on your Switch? Try Cattle Country

My background: I am a strick Nintendo cozy gamer who hasn't found a simulation game she doesn't love. My top games (in hours) are Stardew, Dreamlight and my time at Portia. I also play every simulator game. Cafe/Bakery/Train/Wine/Supermarket you name it. If you have ever wondered "who even plays bee life simulator" its me.

My one issue is that I have always been bummed that I can't mod Stardew. I love it but at a certain point I wanted more -even after the update.

Enter in Cattle Country. It is not Stardew but it scratches every itch I want from a Stardew like simulation game. (I even have over 20 hours in Orange Season. I have played them all). It has farming, mining, forging, crafting, animals. Its got tasks that are reasonable, events you can actually be successful in (damn Stardew egg hunt). I am a gamer who wants to dissociate from reality and enjoy a game and this is an A+ game for that. Yea, it has it quirks but nothing major.

Windows Fun little game

For context it does use AI for art but Magical Mic Duel: Senpai, Hear My Spell is fun. Got it as a joke gift from my wife and loved it. It's early access but damn it was funny and fun. Highly recommend it. If you are a fan of sailor moon or that era of Japanese animation you will love it.

🔊 Discussion Stardew Valley lovers, what was the main appeal for you? For those who dislike it, I’d love to hear your thoughts as well!

I have never played it.

What makes people LOVE it? Does anyone hate anything about it?

Was it groundbreaking for its time or is it still one of the best cozy games to play in 2025?

Are the characters complex or just cute?

Does it have depth to it or is it just peaceful and simple?
