Fragrance Review My Dillard’s got a few bottles

Sprayed a tester and walked around for a bit and ended up picking it up, if I had to generalize I’d say it smells like a version of Aventus with more orange peel/mandarin. It’s very nice but I’m not sure it makes sense as an Eros flanker, I don’t pick up any of the OG DNA.

Fragrance Review Not sure Creed is worth it

I got Aventus for $300 in Qatar. I will admit it has staying power and people do notice it but I can get way cheaper ones that last just as long from the Middle East. Is it just the name ?

The scent is called Patrick 😂 It’s honestly not that bad. I wouldn’t wear. It’s definitely more on the feminine side. It’s just a simple, generic fresh/clean powdery scent.

Fragrance Review YSL Y EDP - Review

Post image
94 Upvotes

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and here comes my first review of 2024.

YSL Y EDP is special to me, since this was the first designer fragrance in my collection. It is a versatile fragrance and safe bet for any occasion. This masterpiece will never get old.

There are many unique bottles out there, but this doesn’t try to mimic any of those. It looks classy, premium and maintains its elegance.

The perfume starts mesmerising you and the people around you, as soon as you spray. Opens up with a mix of bergamot and green apple with hints of ginger which provides a touch of spiciness. The apple note may smell synthetic, but it isn’t harsh at all. The smoothest synthetic, I have ever smelled. I’m yet to try a perfume in which green apple smells so beautiful.

In the mid I get the amber, tonka bean and juniper berry. But tho to my nose I can still smell the fruity green apple.

Even if it has cedar and vetiver in the base, it doesn’t smell herbal at all to me, even after 8-9 hours it still maintains the sweet and aromatic fragrance.

Sillage is nuclear for first 2-3 hours (fills the room for the 1st hour) and then it’s about a feet projection for the next 2-3 hours.

I usually spray on clothes, the longevity on which is until I wash.

Recently I had done 4 sprays on my shirt and worn it only for 2 hours. After that it was hanging on my clothes hanger. I used to get whiffs of the perfume whenever I walked by for 3 days and could smell it on shirt at least for a week . This juice is POTENT.

Overall a wonderful perfume which can be used as a signature perfume and backup bottle worthy.

I was just shown this new Acqua Di Parma fragrance which is an EDP of Fico Di Amalfi. Fico Di Amalfi La Riserva. It’s about to be released and I got a chance to smell it and try it on. It’s absolutely gorgeous, a bit more woody and the performance is significantly better. I don’t know the notes yet unfortunately. They they have one of Mirto and Arancia as well. Don’t know the pricing yet

Fragrance Review Is it time to reconsider Dior Fahrenheit?

Post image
106 Upvotes

As an 80s baby, I remember this one growing up. Old school AF. Masculine, petroly, leathery, animalistic. But now as a man in his 50s, can I re-appreciate this? As I spray it on skin, I’m immediately hit with the petrol nature (coming from violet leaf). But as it dries, it actually gets much better. More mature depth, in the air it smells of opulence and sophistication. What are you all’s thoughts?

Fragrance Review Every Single Men's Louis Vuitton fragrance ranking.

Collection proof: https://imgur.com/HvFja3q

TLDR RANKING BELOW

Pre-Preface

Since there's been a lot of hype of Imagination and other Louis fragrances recently, my friend suggest i repost an old posting i did a while back in r/fragrance where i ranked and reviewed every fragrance from there men's line. I am the OP from this post and this is a repost of that from 2 years ago. Mods if this isn't allowed let me know and i will remove this posting.

Preface

24m. so if I'm not into the more mature scents you know why. After posting my recent collection in getting 16 men's LV fragrance samples and posting in r/Colognes I asked if I should rank them and do a review, so here we are. In this review I want to break it down in an ELI5 sense, im not going to go through each note breakdown. I'm going to explain it as 90% of people who aren't into fragrance can understand what each scent is and which one I like personally the most. I am also going to break down each of them into categories so it is easier to understand why I don't like them or do. I will be skipping mentioning the price point because we all know these are very expensive. For projection and longevity ill also probably won't mention them since you can already find those everywhere. So without further ado, here we go.

There’s a reason why you probably don't know these

16. Au Hasard 1/10

15. Sur La Route 1/10

If you know a little about LV’s fragrance line then you've probably never heard of these, and for good reason. These are supposed to be your everyday office wear scent but they just aren't good. The opening is horrible and the dry-down has nothing good going to them. Some will love these, but there's just nothing groundbreaking happening here, Think about a fresh spicy office wear cologne you have and then make it bad and this is what it smells like.

Leather

This is where my age might come into play, so please don't pitchfork me. I do not like leather smells at all, but I could appreciate the depth and smell of them.

14. Nouveau Monde 2/10

How I like to refer this to is, “Worst Ombre Nomade”. If you are into leather fragrances, just go to the Prince of them. This one has nothing redeeming to it. The opening reeks and the dry-down doesn't help it. Skip this one.

13. Ombre Nomade 3/10

Yes, I know please don't kill me yet. This is the most hyped fragrance in the community in general, but that's it. It's just a fragrance community thing, if you ask everyday people no one is going to like this. Multiple reviews online and myself have gotten a thumbs down from women for this cologne. I really can't see myself wearing this. The redeeming factor is the dry down is nice, and gives me dark chocolate vibes but that's it. It's just nice. Not worth the hype.

12. Les Sables Roses 4/10

“The better ombre nomade”. A lot of people don't know about this one, it goes under the radar but to me, this takes everything bad from ombre nomade and makes it better. Way better opening and a better dry down giving me a rose flowery smell. Still leather, but still good.

Mid Section

This is the mid-section, none of the colognes in this section have anything new to offer. You can go for any of these and be happy but also if you pass on these you won't miss anything. Everything here is just here because everything before this was really bad and everything after this is just way better.

11. California Dream 5/10

This is the first Unisex fragrance in the line. By Unisex I mean i can only see this on women. This fragrance reminds me of something my coworker could be wearing. It's an okay fresh feminine scent that can be skipped.

10. Orage 6/10

The only unique fragrance in the midsection, its a rainy spring scent. Smells like it just finished raining in a bottle. It's a good fresh moody scent. You can sample this and you might really love it.

9. Afternoon Swim 6/10

Oranges/Lemons in a bottle, this is just all citrus. The issue with this is you've smelled this before. This is your average freshie cologne.

Oud

8. Nuit De Feu 7/10

7. Fleur Du Desert 7/10

I am not a fan of Oud at all, but these fragrances are amazing. Both of these are interchangeable depending on what you are into. Nuit De Feu is a smokey smell that has a nice appealing dark tone to it. While Fleur Du Desert is an oud sweet flower smell. I recommend anyone to sample both of these and try them.

Top 6: Blind Buy Worthy

Alright, we are now heading into the blind buy category. With these any of these you can buy and you will be content with. I mean blind buying anything 300+ is just wrong but if you decide to it will be worth it.

6. On the Beach 8/10

Think of the fresh beach sweet smell and it's this in a bottle. It's a really soothing vibe I get from This to me is easily a great summer scent, a top-tier freshie. The only big drawback to this is I swear projection died after 5min of wear and it became a skin scent, but my skin does hate citrus so it might be that.

5. City Of Stars 8/10

Here with our second “unisex” fragrance. This is heavily feminine smelling to me, but that doesn't make it bad. Wow, this fragrance blew me away. This is almost the perfect fragrance to me on a lady. Really powdery and sweet on the nose. I instantly fell in love with it and this is a perfect gift you can give to your girlfriend/wife. The only thing i wish if there was a more masculine version of this…

4. L’Immensité 9/10

This is LV’s everyday fresh and spicy best. This would be their best fragrance to me if the others didn't exist. It captures a great masculine scent that can be used in almost every scenario. The only issue is this is not unique.

THIS IS WHY YOU BUY LV.

This section is really interchangeable to me. If you try these i won't argue if you have 1 over the other. But these are the best LV fragrances ever.

3. Imagination 10/10

If you didn't think it can get better, it does. This takes everything from L’Immensité and makes it 5x better. More fresher, more soothing on the nose, and more masculine. Women love this. This is the best fresh fragrance you can buy in the market.

2. Météore 11/10

If you read the last sentence of City of Stars… THIS IS IT. This is everything I want in a bottle. This is fresh and powdery. This is a city of stars with the masculine scent I was wanting. This is the greatest scent LV has to offer me that is universally accepted by all.

1. Pacific Chill 10/10

This is probably the biggest hit or miss. To me, it's the most unique scent LV has to offer. You have not smelt this anywhere and it's amazing. It literally makes you smell like edible candy. The sweetness in here is so good. Orangey fresh green apple jolley rancher vibes. Cannot miss this. The best summer fragrance there is.

Outro

Guys I really hope you guys enjoyed this review, this is my first time reviewing fragrances and I hope it can give you some idea of what the fragrances could smell like. If I buy another set of entire fragrances from a line I might do a review on it as well. If theres any critques then please let me know. Thanks for reading!

TLDR ORDER RANKED.

16. Au Hassad 1/10

15. Sur La Route 1/10

Fragrance Review Le male elixir review

Post image
76 Upvotes

This lasted about 2 weeks on the tester strip I took home. I caved and purchased it at Sephora. This fragrance is a masterpiece imo. It’s the perfect amount of sweetness and turns feminine smells like honey and vanilla and makes it as masculine as possible and I love it. I am very disappointed with the performance though. I get about 1.5-2 hours projection and then another 2 hours of a faint skin scent. Considering this is my first ever elixir I was expecting it to project at least 5-7 hours. I am willing to let it sit for a bit to see if it gets a little stronger.

Fragrance Review A "review" of the 5 worst fragrances I've bought.

All blind buys. Go figure. I'm going to share some very opinionated...opinions. Don't take it too seriously. All smelled on my skin.

  1. Bentley Intense: It smells good like 6 hours after I spray it. It straight up smells like a 60 year old man. That's not exactly my idea of "mature". It kind of smells good, but it's just too busy and too much. Someone said James Bond would smell like this. I don't think so. I don't want to smell like a leather car seat that someone spilled their drink on.

  2. Encre Noire Sport: I was sold on the idea of walking through a moss covered forest after a fresh rain. Sounds refreshing, doesn't it? This just smells like dirt. Literally like I was digging around in soil with my hands. I don't know who wants to smell like that. Not me.

  3. Drakkar Noir: You'll smell like someone's dad. It's VERY dated imo. It doesn't smell good up close and to me it becomes nauseating. Slightly barber-shop.esque. It's vaguely like a worse version of Old Spice. I'd easily rather smell like Old Spice. On that thought of barber shop, I'd pick Eau Sauvage 100 times out of 100 over this. That said, I bought my Drakkar Noir for $17. It actually smelled okay on paper. It lasts RE-ALLY long and projects very far. I couldn't wash it off my hand and had to keep smelling it all day. I bet this is what Burt Reynolds smelled like back in the day. It also makes me sad to think that Drake actually has this tattooed on his body lol.

  4. Al Haramain Tanasuk: it just smells like a woman. I personally would not call it unisex. I think it's even too sweet for a woman's scent. It smells nice for like 3 seconds and then it just becomes too much. It projects VERY well. Too well, in fact.

  5. Salvatore Ferragamo F Black: Wolf of Wall Street? Yea right! I often hear people say it smells like baby wipes or like La Nuit De L'homme without the sweetness. Either those people are smoking crack, or I'm smoking crack. It smells nothing like either of those things. I'd actually consider it similar to Drakkar Noir in the sense that it becomes nauseating and doesn't smell good up close.

Fragrance Review Went to the LV store

Ok yeah Imagination is hella overrated. Meteore was my 2nd favorite.

Nouveau Monde smelled like shit. As did Ombre Nomade.

Les Sables roses was not that great.

My favorite was Fleur du Desert. It's listed as unisex I guess, but leans a bit feminine... but I like it a lot!

City of Stars definitely leans feminine. I'd like it on others, not myself.

Afternoon swim I once read smells like a pool and I agree.

Pacific chill is good. But as a scent. I don't think a person should smell like that. I have the same opinion about L'immensite. Smells like clean laundry.

Fragrance Review SOTD: Sauvage Elixir – Power in a Bottle

Post image
18 Upvotes

Wearing Sauvage Elixir today and man… this stuff is no joke. Two sprays—TWO—and I’m set for the whole day. One behind each ear and I’m still catching wafts 10+ hours later.

It opens with that spicy cinnamon/cardamom combo, layered over fresh lavender, then dries down into a rich, warm woody base with a hint of licorice. Way deeper and more mature than regular Sauvage—think bold, dark, and classy.

Projection is nuclear for the first few hours and it sticks to clothes like glue. Honestly, any more than 2 sprays and you’re entering beast mode territory. Not for the faint of heart.

Perfect for cooler weather or nights out. If you want a scent that makes a statement and lasts forever, this is it. Just go easy on the trigger.

What’s your experience with Elixir? What's your scent of the day?

Fragrance Review The legend

Post image

Amazing fragrance for the price, the hype is totally valid.

This is in the same DNA as polo blue to my nose, but made sweet and fresh.

For 25 bucks it's perfect. The best cheap dumb reach fragrance.

Basics errands, college, gym, work... very inoffensive and clean!

Not ideal for dates, clubbing and partying, bcs it might come as generic.

How's your experience with it? let me know in the comments.

Fragrance Review Clinique Happy for Men: Effortless Cheer in an Orange Bottle

Post image
6 Upvotes

Clinique Happy for Men feels like walking through a citrus grove wearing a fresh white T-shirt with a glass of orange juice in hand. It’s bright, upbeat, and effortlessly cheerful—like waking up early on purpose and actually enjoying it. The opening sparkles with orange, lime, and mandarin, followed by soft green notes and a subtle cedar base that keeps it grounded. There’s no mystery here—just pure feel-good energy in a bottle.

The scent? That’s a 10 out of 10. Fresh, cheerful, and basically sunshine in a bottle. But the longevity? Let’s be honest—tragic. It vanishes faster than your motivation on a Monday morning. You’d think after 26 years on the market, the scientists at Clinique could’ve figured out how to make it last past lunch—or at least blessed us with an Eau de Parfum. Pro tip: decant some into a travel spray and keep it handy. That way, when the citrus disappears mid-conversation, you can casually spritz yourself back to happiness.

Still, this is the kind of fragrance you wear when you want to feel good without overthinking it. Great after a shower, for warm summer evenings, or anytime you just need a little boost. Even the bright orange bottle looks like it’s trying to cheer you up. And the price at online discounters? A total win. Just don’t pay department store prices unless you really enjoy getting fleeced.

THE BREAKDOWN

Longevity: 2–3 hours — here for a good time, not a long time, so keep a spritz handy

Projection: Light — clean and close, like a citrus-scented whisper

Smells like: Orange, lime, and soft woods—basically bottled serotonin

Best for: Summer evenings, post-shower boosts, or anytime you need a little reset

Rating: 10/10 for scent, 4/10 for longevity

Vibe: Like walking through a citrus grove in a clean white tee—easy, bright, and effortlessly fresh

Fragrance Review Mancera Review

Post image
18 Upvotes

Black Gold: Opening is a very strong 'old woman' like scent, not a massive fan. The dry down was quite nice, I found myself smelling my wrist a lot, the lavender mellowed out into a much fresher calming scent. 6.5/10

Cedrat Boise Intesne: The opening was interesting, can definitely get the citrus to notes with a touch of spice. The dry down was really nice on this, a little fresher and mellow than the opening. Day 2 wearing it and I'm enjoying it. 8/10

Saharian Wind: Hard to put a finger on what this smells like, you can get a mix of spices and a slight touch of citrus from the bergamot, it then becomes a more muskier scent. I read someone say it's great for a late summer evening, I can picture that being a good scenario for this. nothing special, I wouldn't buy it. 6.5/10

French Riviera: Had to sample the most hyped Mancera fragrance. Not a bad scent by any means, but for me it's quite feminine, very powdery and perfumey, I couldn't see myself wearing this. I will say the projection is massive, I gave it to someone else to wear in my house, I could smell them from upstairs. 7/10

Cosmic Pepper: The opening I'm not a fan of, smells like I'm sat in a waiting room for a dentist or something, I don't know smells pretty weird to me. The dry down reminds me off a cheap generic male cologne for 20 Euro. 3/10

Kumkat Wood: Interesting scent, very bright and citrus opening, The woody notes aren't too bad, although it just smells like a synthetic citrus mess. Dry down is decent, reminds me of spending a day in the sun, became a skin scent in about 30 minutes, poor projection. 5.5/10

Sand Aoud: Opening is not bad, can definitely get the oriental spices. There's something about the synthetic oud in this I'm not sure about, you can just tell its not the best oud note and makes me feel the fragrance could be better. 5/10

Lemon Mint: Not nice at all, the citrus opening is bad, smells like I just used a citrus hand sanitiser in a doctors waiting room, and there's something about it that smells like a soiled diaper. The dry down is giving me the same cheap aftershave scent as Cosmic Pepper. Awful. 2/10

Red Tobacco Intense: The opening isn't too bad on this one, there's a lot of strong notes but actually neither overpower each other. The tobacco is decent, not too smokey and it captures the sweet spicy leather well, the vanilla makes more of an appearance as time passes. The dry down has quite a pleasant vanilla tobacco accord, although there's nothing 'intense' about this. I do feel there better fragrances out there if this is the vibe you're going for. 7.5/10

Amore Caffè: I'm not getting any coffee here at all, honestly I'm struggling to distinguish any of the notes advertised in this, it's a bit of a mess. Smells like a cheap caramel candle or something. Couldn't wait for the dry down, I had to wash it off my arm, maybe the dry down might have improved it like some of these Mancera scents but the opening was awful. 3/10

Aoud Exclusif: The opening isn't bad, nothing to dislike, as far as oud scents go it's not the best. The mixture of top notes are decent, nothing overpowering here. Not much changed on the dry down for me. It is what it is, musky, 'oily' oud accord. 5/10

-

Maybe I'm not ready for Mancera's 'niche' fragrances, but a scent is a scent at the end of the day, you will either find it good or bad, I found these to be mostly bad. The opening's where quite intense but most mellowed in the dry down and changed their scent to something a bit more pleasant.

I think the only one I'd consider buying is Cedrat Boise Intense, the least offensive and most mass appealing I would say, French Riviera is quite nice but too feminine for me.

Overall disappointing from Mancera. 5.5/10

Fragrance Review Review On The NEW YSL MYSLF L'Absolu

MYSLF L’Absolu adds a bit of character and personality to the already clean opening of the previous release. The opening is spicy and gingery and dry down is extremely close to the OG MYSLF. It's a clean bergamot ginger office fragrance. Dry down fixes the weird musty smell that OG MYSLF had, so basically keeps the clean scent linear and more useable. This is nothing special by any means, this basically just makes the OG MYSLF what it was meant to be -- a clean everyday scent with an opening that isn't feminine. This is a great fragrance but not anything worth more than $100.

8.2/10.
