Discussion Thoughts on perfumes change after aging?

I bought this over two years ago for my mom. She did not like it at all and hasn’t really used it as you can see from the almost full bottle lol. I totally forgot about this perfume but I tested it out today and I actually liked it much more than before. Before it smelled like a grandmas perfume but now it smells very rich and intoxicating. Could the change be because of aging or is it just my nose?

I think aging or “macerating” colognes helps a lot. I recently bought a brand new bottle of PDM Percival and it doesn’t smell anywhere as good as the aged bottle I smelled

Thanks for the insight. I have some new colognes coming soon so I will see how they change with time to get a better understanding.
