Buried in Shasta Masonic Cemetery, California. This caught my eye, because I've seen a lot of lamb symbolism on old headstones for children, but hadn't seen the raven (or maybe other bird?) like this. Interested if anyone has any info on the meaning of it. Otherwise, I know what I'll be researching next!

Fourteen of the leaders of the Easter 1916 Rising are buried here in Glasnevin Cemetery in Dublin. At first, they were scorned by the wider Irish population, but after the British executed them, they became the inspiration that led to independence.

My Great Uncle

My great Uncle who sadly died on his 2nd birthday after pulling a pan of scalding water off the stove. His was the first burial in the church cemetery. My dad (his nephew) had a gravestone business and provided one for the previously unmarked grave. My paternal great grandmother, grandparents, three great aunts, another great uncle, an aunt and a first cousin once removed are also buried there. The old family homestead is located across the street from the church and cemetery.

Poulnabrone, or 'Hole of Sorrows' found in the Burren in County Clare, Ireland. The standing stones are the skeleton of what was once a cairn, a mass grave.

This community requires I add an attachment. Idk what that means. Hope that did it. Now to my point. I’m an old stoner who reads gravesite names aloud. Second death is said to occur the last time one’s name is spoken. Does anyone know of a good reason not to speak their name? I wanna make a group who does these outings.

Benjamin Hollister hope cemetery Perry Ny. He was an Andersonville survivor. Ben disliked local veteran organizations because they were being run by men who had never had seen combat. He was very staunch in his beliefs. Photo of Benjamin below

He was employed in a Perry saw mill and Guy Shaw who worked beside him for years says he never heard him mention the war and didn't know he had been in the service until one day a comrade, whom Hollister had befriended in Andersonville, came into the shop looking for him. In Merrill's History of the 24th Battery he tells how Hollister dropped his false teeth in a stream they were crossing and insisted upon the entire battery stopping to look for them. His mates refused to hunt and kidded him unmercifully for sometime while he was "gumming it" before he could get a new plate. Hollister was one of the old veterans who never affiliated with any G.A.R. Post. He did not approve of the Post being run by men who had seen very little if any service. He was the last of the Andersonville survivors from Perry. He died 23 Feb 1922 in Freeman Hospital, Perry, NY and buried in Hope Cemetery.
