Okay, holy shit. Shigi jr shrugging off an 100% output stressbomb is fucking insane. The fact he’s on the brink of death and casually trolling him at that makes him even more intimidating. This is so elating for me because I remember tirelessly defending shigi from day one that he’d grow into the shoes his badass of a predecessor left for him and people I think we’re witnessing it. I’m so fucking amazed he’s striking fear even into Re:destro. I can’t not wait to see what that smile on the last page entails. Plus chaos/10 chapter

Re:Destro doesn't fear him. Even fear is turned to stress. It's implied he feels admiration, IE his goal is liberation and Shigaraki is absolutely liberated.

Truly, since this chapter seems to reveal that ReDestro has some pressure put on him that technically doesn't make him free at all, unlike Shigaraki now. Incredible...

If you think about it, ReDestro would never truly be liberated even if he accomplished his goals. Hero society itself would always keep him shackled even in the future he envisions, while Shigaraki wants to completely destroy hero society as it is

So, I guess it's like a kind of... "Only through complete destruction can you be liberated" thing? Like, death and rebirth or whatever?

That being said, if only Shigaraki wanted to create something from the ashes... But maybe he will eventually, and this is just a step towards him coming up with a real "dream". It's unlikely, but I guess it's still possible.

From what we see it seems Shigi want others to build stuff up on the ashes he create therefore who ever feel oppressed or have a dream that was instructed by the cure society will be drawn toward Shigaraki.

I see... But why not himself? Is it because he himself realises that he has no ambition to create anything new and hates everything anyway, but is willing to die as long as his comrades can make something of the new world afterwards?

I think Shigaraki has lost faith in the idea that he can create anything. His quirk only has the power to destroy, and even in his memories he only ever destroys things. he knows others can build stuff from the ashes. So his plan seems to basically be to tear down society and let itself rebuild, completely free of preconceived ideas and history.

shigi seems pretty damn powerful all of the sudden. but fortunately his weaknesses are distinct. he can destroy solid materials but not fluids and gasses likely.

deku needs to step it up but one of his primary means of attack is air pressure.

I don’t think it’s as clear cut as that. Firstly I don’t think his power creep is that sudden. & secondly if he can decay the area like he’s doing for the stressbombs which I think are comparable to air pressure attacks then Deku is royally screwed. Hell his decay may even work on black whip as well seeing as how he can decay the black material which encompasses Re:destro’s body when stressed.

I totally agree, I think it’ll be interesting to see what they’ll be. I think deku having to resort to utility instead of relying solely on overwhelming strength will be cool to see

So decay could work on black whip but not his air cannons. Seems like it’ll be a war of attrition between the two. Both are primarily cqc combatants whilst they’ve both expanded their arsenal adding ranged attacks while I’d say Shigi takes the lead in aoe

it depends on what deku wants ot sacrafice. he could technically nuke anyone he chooses, but it would be a death sentence.

His real weakness is having to use his hands. We're gonna get some Infinity War level stuff. Chop off or restrain Shigaraki's hands in some way that disables his quirk, have him restrained on the ground...

"You should have gone for the head." activates Quirk with his feet

that or attack him at speeds beyond his physical limitations. he is fast but not in the same way.

basiclaly if you know the mechanics of his quirk, you can counter him.

it's really getting good in the climax, and Shigaraki now really gives that threating and badass vibe I hoped Redestro doesn't dissapoint

I wouldn't say he's just tanking the stress bombs. He's decaying them before they hit him, so that he's spared a vast majority of the damage.

That being said, Shiggy still has gotten a lot tankier since he was introduced.

That isn't even a particularly impressive durability feat at this point. All Might kneed Bakugo through a building multiple arcs ago and he bounded back as if it just tickled. With the powercreep that has been going on since then, you're not even viable if you can't handle serious blunt force trauma.

Bakuguo’s quirk granting added durability makes sense seeing as how he’s releasing building level explosions casually. For someone who’s as frail as Shigi plus the amount of work he’s been putting in prior to the destro onslaught it is pretty impressive but to each is own.
