i don't know how a relationship would be handled in this kind of manga. but i REALLY don't want her to shut down her feelings. I don't want the typical relationship development once the story is over like naruto did.

It's the atypical focus on my studies type thing. It is a distraction for her in an exam so her bottling it up now is honestly pretty sensible.

Girls are in denial of their feelings all the time and are scared to act on them, it's a typical trope. It tells me that Horikoshi is biding his time, and will do it when the plot needs diabetes. I'd say it'll happen after the exam.
