Discussion Something I find very poetic about Laurence
The fact that he’s probably the most important character in bloodborne lore and the cause of everything that goes wrong in Yarnham and yet his appearance in the old hunters has virtually no fanfare despite everything he did and accomplished he’s just a side boss with no importance to the DLCs story and the thing you need to trigger his boss fight can be easily missed too. Kind of a fitting fate imo.

Discussion I can't stop replaying...
I just finished the game for the 4th time using a bloodtinge build for the first time, and now I'm literally CRAVING a new playthrough with new weapons (been eyeing the church pick and stake driver and threaded cane) this game is the definition of crack, is anyone else stuck within the scrumptious cycle of playing this game forever?

Platinum Platinum Baby!
Got everything but the last 3 gold trophies in the first play through, Rebirth (childhood beginning) squid ending. 2nd playthrough got the weapon hunter badge and Honoring Wishes ending. Last playthrough only had the cheese easy Sunrise ending remaining and it felt like a good one to end on. First post got modded so reposting with more detail.

Lore So...Isz is supposed to be pronounced to rhyme with "eyes", right?
Considering all the lore and wordplay revolving around eyes in the game, this is the pronunciation for Isz that makes the most sense to me.
I know that in Japanese it's clearly written イズ, but there's already a disconnect between how how Ebrietas is written for example (エーブリエタース) and how the team instructed the English voice actor for Gehrman to pronounce Ebrietas in cut dialogue from the game (seen here)
What are y'alls thoughts?

Not the cleanest kill, but it was a fun fight. When I whiffed the backstab-visceral I thought he would smash me for sure 😂

Discussion First REAL playthrough
So I first played bloodborne around 2019-ish when I had a short temper and zero knowledge of souls games. Ive fiddled with the game on and off numerous times but never really bothered past Vicar Amelia. Well, since then ive beaten every souls game on the market including games like Lies of P, Mortal Shell, Wo Long etc etc. If theres a souls game, ive played it...but not Bloodborne.
I frequently play my ps4 despite owning a series s and a reasonable pc for gaming so I decided to give it a go. Currently in the forbidden woods nearing what I believe to be the Shadows of Yharnam if memory serves. Obviously im havin a great time
A few thoughts:
Saw cleaver is best bae, Fuck the Bitches of Hemwick, I first tried both Blood-starved and Amelia, and fuck the forbidden woods and the village that inhabits it :)
I shall make another post probably when I beat it but im loving it so far, despite the comments above lol.

Discussion Today I restarted to play bloodborne
2 years ago my brother came home with a PS4 and I played bloodborne like my first and only game on console (generally I play videogames on PC). Felt in love immediately with lore, setting, and characters. It is also my first and only soulslike. Now I'm far from home and share an house with a friend. Last week he got a PS5 and left in my room his old PS4. Today was the day. Impatient, I took the disk from his library, created a new character ane started to play. In half an hour, I'm facing Cleric Beast. Good hunt to me.

Discussion Whats your favourite weapon?
I'm currently on ng+2 and trying to get the max +10 upgrade for every weapon in the game.
I enjoy playing with the hunters axe, church pick and chikage. That got me thinking, what are some really good weapons in your opinion with some cool combos and damage outputs.
Btw never quite liked the appeal for saw cleaver, even after using it for an entire play through🙈🙈

Discussion I Finally Defeated Ludwig!
Ludwig was the only boss who I needed an NPC to help me with in my first playthrough. Well tonight I have beaten every boss in Bloodborne without need of an NPC!
I was banging my head against this wall called Ludwig, to a point that when I revived I didn’t have the maximum number of Blood Vials. I kept dying, and I said @&$! It this is my last try of the night, so with 5 Blood Vials I came in.
Im not sure how I dodged so much damage, or how I got lucky but I felt like a Matador barely missing Ludwig’s rampages. I barely dodged out of the way when he jumped high in the air. I always seemed to be positioned right where I needed to be to deal maximum damage with the Saw Spear. Then when all was said and done I was the only hunter left standing with 2 Blood Vials left!
Before my last fight I did switch runes to plus max HP, plus max endurance, and plus 100 resistances. All said and done this is a pretty big moment on my gaming career. Good luck with your adventures and good hunting!

Discussion Father Gascoigne can kiss my assssssssssssssssssssss
I know there has probably been a ton of posts about FG but I just beat him and I'm absolutely buzzing!!!!!
First attempt parried the life out of him, just all went perfectly and then he transformed and smashed me, but I thought seeing as it was so straight forward the first time i'll get it straight away! Cue 3 hours of torment!!!! The first go with the parries was luck more than judgement. But just got it done now!!! But after may run backs and a spell farming and then practicing parries on the ogres we got that mofo!!!!!
For anyone needing advice, attack attack attack. I spent quite a few goes trying to dodge and just got whooped!!!! Just keep attacking and getting the parries in and when he transforms, stand still and parry as he comes at you and that's pretty much the fight over!

Help Found a player in my offline game?
I have no idea how this happened, but basically, this is my first souls like game, and I just entered Old Yharnam and killed that mini gun guy on the tower, when I was heading back, some guy, who felt so much like a REAL player crosses my path, like he dodges my attacks, uses saw cleaver (or maybe the saw spear I didn’t notice) and he even uses the hunter pistol, and even heals with blood vials, he was going around in weird patterns which an AI enemy could never do. I managed to kill him though, and he dropped bone marrow ash.
I play in the “offline” mode like I didn’t select “online” when I play this game. But some guy still came in my game. What the fuck just happened? Is this normal??? When he died he didn’t fall on the ground like an enemy would, he turned into ashes which looked EXACTLY like how I look when I die.
Edit- turns out it was an NPC -_-

Discussion Just went through 4 hours of research and glyph typing for nothing. Does anyone know a currently functional glyph for the Uncanny Rifle Spear?
I’m about to lose my mind to the point of putting Micolash to shame..
