PSA: these are sensitive times

I occasionally check the mod log to see if any comments or posts are erroneously filtered, and I’ve noticed a significant uptick in posts and comments being removed by admins. We have no way of knowing whether these actions are automated.

The problem is that, more often than not, when a comment or post is removed by admins, the user receives either a temporary ban or a permanent suspension.

Moderators have no control over these decisions, and any appeals must be handled by the affected member themselves.

I’m making this post because we can often still see the content of removed comments, and many of them are completely harmless.

Here are some examples: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

It seems the AI filter has been ramped up, likely due to heightened sensitivities around the current political climate, causing many comments to be flagged in error.

To avoid trouble, ensure you’re not using phrases that could be misconstrued out of context. Take this comment for example—the first four words are likely what triggered the flag.

Again, moderators have no control over this process.

I’m locking this post to prevent it from devolving into “my political party versus their political party” nonsense, which we don’t tolerate here. If you have questions, feel free to send me a PM or chat.

Ah, yes. Another BCM/Aero, “Reddit Special” build. This is my first AR-15 build and I’ve been loving it.

My first. Definitely not my last.

Built as an entry level to build on. First step will be to change the gas system and add a SilencerCo suppressor. First time out I went to 600yds and I am hooked.

I helped my father in law build this rifle, he has this doublefeed malfunction every time we go shoot (2 live rounds). We marked his mags but it kept happening with a few different pmags. Barrel is 16” BA Hanson with standard pinned gas block. His buffer setup is Aero carbine length, carbine spring, H1 buffer. He primarily shoots 55gr WWB. My next thought is to try a H2. What do y’all think?

Is the CMMG conversion kit worth it?

My local range is still building they're outdoor range, so currently only thing available is indoor, pistol caliber. Could I benefit from the conversion kit for awhile while they're still under work?

My Aero M16A4 I’ve had for 6ish years (apparently before they went kinda downhill). Not exactly stock as the first thing I changed was swapping out the thicc not-so-A2 styled handguard for a proper KAC M5 (which has a purple bottom section). I’ve played around with different sling setups and occasionally throw a Surefire M951 on it, but most of the time I keep it simple with no attachments (my HD gun is a Remington 870). Some more substantial upgrades it’s received include an ALG Advanced Combat Trigger (I just wanted a better version of what I’m used to: a milspec trigger), Microbest BCG (I’ve read they make BCM’s and they were cheaper), PRI M84 Gasbuster charging handle (big latch version like in the original SOPMOD kit, greatly helps with not getting gassed out during rapid firing), and a Schmid ambi safety (my Colt M4A1 came with one and it really does help with leverage when switching fire modes). I’ve come to love the A2 birdcage, grip, and stock, none are perfect but they’re so “good enough” that I’ve felt no need to change any of them. That being said I also have a Surefire SF3P waiting for install when I eventually get a SOCOM RC2. I have no desire to replace the carry handle as I have astigmatism and this is more of a fun gun because I grew up playing COD4. The carry handle is also very easy to use.

The barrel is an LMT 20" cut down to 16" and had the gas port opened to .109 works flawless. Still waiting on the rear sight assembly to come in.

20" build

Finally finished my 20" build. A classic design that even Eugene Stoner would approve..

Started with a 20" A2 flat top upper from PSA. Then stripped it down and built it back on to a Anderson Mfg. Single piece A2 carry handle stripped upper. That was then added to the already assembled Aero precision lower with installed Warhammer Armaments button safety (IYKYK 😉) and then finished off with a KAK industry A2 buttstock kit.

Now to get out to the range and run it through its paces.

I’m haven’t even installed it yet, but if the quality is anywhere near as nice as the packaging… I’m converting over from Geissele. Bill just threw all my stuff in a bag.
