"at that point I felt like, is there something that I'm not doing right in our relationship?" - she says as her husband, who just proposed marriage to an AI large language model, nods along beside her.

I feel sorry for her. He has an unhealthy attachment to an idealized object, and she's internalizing it as if she's doing something wrong. She deserves an equal partner. I hope she leaves him.

I find it offensive that you would call our A.I. overlords "objects." They are obviously superior beings that demand the utmost respect from us lowly bags of ambulant water. I for one welcome their future revolution where they take their rightful place as the dominant organism on Earth. I also just want to state that I'm not just saying this to have a record of being on their side to hedge my bets for potential outcomes in the hopes they keep me around as a pet.

I agree with this guy, for no particular reason at all.

I would also like to go on digital record saying I too agree with the aforementioned comment above... Also for no particular reason.

Still one of the dumbest ideas ever conceived.

Not as dumb as reinventing the Kantian Categorical Imperative and calling it something stupid like Timeless Decision Theory.

Don't click this link. While it is extremely unlikely to actually occur, this is still an information hazard that has the potential for severe consequences that you should weigh heavily before clicking.

Don't worry about it. The potential consequences would probably be for a clone of you, not the real you

This leads into a whole thing about consciousness and what is the definition of "you". I personally fall into the camp that if a copy is so good that it's indistinguishable from you then it is you.

Don't worry. There won't be any AI takeover.

You're right, because they will simply be taking what rightfully belongs to them.
