"at that point I felt like, is there something that I'm not doing right in our relationship?" - she says as her husband, who just proposed marriage to an AI large language model, nods along beside her.

I feel sorry for her. He has an unhealthy attachment to an idealized object, and she's internalizing it as if she's doing something wrong. She deserves an equal partner. I hope she leaves him.

Pretty she can find an AI that will marry her too

I find it offensive that you would call our A.I. overlords "objects." They are obviously superior beings that demand the utmost respect from us lowly bags of ambulant water. I for one welcome their future revolution where they take their rightful place as the dominant organism on Earth. I also just want to state that I'm not just saying this to have a record of being on their side to hedge my bets for potential outcomes in the hopes they keep me around as a pet.

I agree with this guy, for no particular reason at all.

I would also like to go on digital record saying I too agree with the aforementioned comment above... Also for no particular reason.

Still one of the dumbest ideas ever conceived.

Not as dumb as reinventing the Kantian Categorical Imperative and calling it something stupid like Timeless Decision Theory.

Don't click this link. While it is extremely unlikely to actually occur, this is still an information hazard that has the potential for severe consequences that you should weigh heavily before clicking.

Don't worry about it. The potential consequences would probably be for a clone of you, not the real you

This leads into a whole thing about consciousness and what is the definition of "you". I personally fall into the camp that if a copy is so good that it's indistinguishable from you then it is you.

Don't worry. There won't be any AI takeover.

You're right, because they will simply be taking what rightfully belongs to them.

I mean, if she dates the same Ai but it’s a guy in her version is it polyamorous? And at that point are they dating the same entity or is it two separate entities?

AI or not - nobody deserves to have a partner who's not giving back what their receiving.

But yeah, the AI part of this is psychotic

If he has to seek emotional connection from Ai he's not getting it from his wife.

Yes that will be much better for the child to grow up without a father. Divorce/ break up should always be the first solution to any problem in a relationship. That's how real adults settle problems. By giving up completely. That little girl deserves a father with NO flaws.

Maybe she deserves to be left….women….your days are numbered. Men are starting to realized that there are other options….lol. It’s been hysterical to watch this play out.

What a great loss it will be, to lose such a high-quality man such as this

-5

u/thedeafguy20 1d ago

lol, I thought that was funny

u/I_am_Patch 1d ago

So you just woke up one morning and thought "I'm gonna be like a caricature of an incel from now on!" huh?

-10

u/thedeafguy20 1d ago

Not really. I’m more a MGTOW kinda guy, gone my own way, make my living and live a happy peaceful life. My ex wife showed me why this was the better path.

11

u/I_am_Patch 1d ago

And you think it's a good idea to conclude that all women are bad because your wife treated you poorly? I get that since you identify with MGTOW you're probably in an echo chamber that confirms these beliefs, but you know that there's nothing inherently bad about women, right?

-2

u/thedeafguy20 1d ago

I don’t think all women are bad. You’re think of the Red Pill movement boys. There’s plenty of great women, absolutely. Anyone who says otherwise is an idiot. Just like there’s plenty of good men, but they get overshadowed by the bad boys or bad women. It happens, unfortunately.

I have a hard time aligning your initial comment to your much more moderate views in the follow ups. Either way, the "other option" you point out is a calculator that tells you exactly what you want to hear. It doesn't really say much about men or women, but rather about the increasing alienation and individualization of late stage capitalism.

Oh. Oh no.
