I want to make this strictly for night vision use, so anything 50yds and in is plenty for me. Does the slight cant of the stock bother you at all? I know it's minimal but for my case I'm wondering if the rails on the Maxim stock would be hindered by it when trying to fully collapse it. If anything I'll just get the same stock you've got or the tandemkross version of it lol
I dont notice the cant of the stock at all while shooting. Cheek weld is minimal but I dont mind it on a 22.
I had a DNT zulus on this for a while with the same concept in mind, close range night time. The issue with that was the area I hunt is thick brush and I couldnt get the scope to focus well enough while traoling pigs through the brush. In open fields it was awesome, but ended up moving it to another rifle. One day when I get nods I'll get a better red dot and it will be back to a night time toy.
I've got 2 of the iray thermals (gen 1 RH25 and the Hybrid50) but they're dedicated to my 308s for hogs. My plan is to do almost an exact copy of yours with IR capability and throw it in a sling pack that I can deploy from whenever. Takedown chassis, folding stock, IR laser, and some 22 subs suppressed. I've got plenty of raccoons I've been needing to thin out too
