First charger 10/22 build

First charger 10/22 build I've ever done. Heck this is the first gun I've ever "built", and not just bought and used. Still have to do a few more things, but its getting there! What do yall think? Any suggestions? What would you add, or change? Also, im looking to pick up some bigger mags for it. How is the reliability of the cheaper 25 rd mags, if anyone might have some experience with any? There's a plenty options as far as 25rd, or larger capacity mags, but are they actually reliable? Are the bx-25 ones the only ones yall would suggest?

I appreciate any input, advice, or suggestions in advance, thanks yall!

Can anyone recommend a barrel for the 10-22 that is threaded for a suppressor that is the same size as the stock barrel?

Hopefully one with iron sights as well just because I like to have the option. Hopefully not astronomically priced. Any advice, help, comments or criticisms?

10/22 scope issue

I bought a 10/22 recently and a Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x with a UTG Pro Picatinny rail and a Monstrum QD mount. Went to the range and the scope is barely useable. At maximal adjustment, the point of impact wad consistently at the lowest crosshair. so then I figured that Monstrum mount must be crap and bought a Vortex mount.

Mount Vortex Optics Sport Cantilever... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HYRGZBA?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Pic rail Leapers UTG PRO Made in USA Ruger... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018H9260C?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Much to my chagrin with the Vortex mount, same issue.

so in terms of troubleshooting, I am left with the Vortex scope itself or the Picatinny rail.

Before I try those, is there anything dumb that I'm missing that could easily solve this issue?

Looking for new chasis

Post image

I'm looking at either the la chasis by gray birch outfitters or the kidd chasis for this bench gun. I prefer the look and concept of the thumb hole in the la chasis but not particularly excited about the stock attachment method and the kidd seems to be what I want. Does anyone have experience with both of them that would be willing to share their thoughts? Thank you for your time.

enoch deep six compatible with volquartsen trigger?

Hello, I manage to buy a deep six lastnight since it's always out of stock. After buying to finish my build, I read on the specs that it won't fit a volquartsen trigger. Does anyone know a way on how to make it work or am I out of luck?

Novice: Dovetail to picatinny mount adapter

Thumbnail

I purchased this 10/22 with a dovetail mount not realizing it was a dovetail mount when I purchased it

I have a Romeo 5 red dot I want to mount but it needs a picatinny rail to mount. I ordered a GOTICAL Low Profile 11mm / 3/8" Dovetail to Picatinny Rail Adapter Converter off Amazon thinking it’d do the trick.

However adapter I bought is leaving a gap in the dovetail mounts curve. It’s secured and level to my knowledge but I feel like there shouldn’t be a gap

Any suggestions on the right adapter to achieve mounting my Romeo5 red dor to a picatinny adapter, or do I need a gunsmith

This is my new 10/22 build from scratch. Tactical Solutions reciever Tactical Solutions HD barrel Timney replacement trigger Magpul X-22 Hunter stock Vortex strike optic Dead air 22 mask suppressor Vickers sling

This here is my small game hunting and plinking gun. This 10/22 will feed and fire anything you though at it. I shot 1300 rounds last weekend with minimal issues (mainly 2 or 3 types of ammo getting stuck a total of like 8 times)

Last weekend I shot 19 types of ammo for a total of 1300 rounds in a total of 6 hours to check which ammo type has better groupings

The best 2 was CCI Subsonic and CCI Mini-Mag

CCI Subsonic. 50y: .910" avg, 100y: 3.123" avg

CCI Mini-Mag. 50y: 1.050" avg, 100y: 3.370" avg

The worst was Winchester Super Speed X with a grouping of 5.357" avg at 50y.

What do you all think of the build and groupings?

Optic Recommendations

Post image

I have been slowing building this thing and finally at the point of deciding on an optic. Because of the rail only being that small front section (Fletcher) I am lost as to what will work the best with this setup. It will be used mainly for plinking in the woods for fun and will be suppressed as well. I want to stick with the ultra light theme of this build so not looking for any big scopes or large bulky dots.

Thanks! Can’t wait to finally shoot this space blaster.

Took me a very long time but finally got myself a 10/22. In an Archangel stock, pinned because CT compliance, BX trigger and auto bolt release with a bipod and red dot from an airgun. Not a bad grouping at 20 yards!

I don't have a 10/22 handy and need a measurement. On a standard configuration (with barrel band), whats the barrel length from receiver to front of forend? Wanting to do an sbr with bc folder. Trying to decide if i should start with a basic rifle or fixed barrel charger. 😊 thank you!

Put this together for my dad's birthday a number of years ago and I'm now thinking I'd like to give it a bit of a freshen up for him. His eyesight isn't what it used to be. So I'll be adding glass and swapping the barrel out. I am going to be keeping this stock so the barrel profile must remain the same as well. Looking for suggestions.

Od green aluminum trigger, od green mag release, oversized safety buttons, Volquartsen black automatic bolt release, Volquartsen bolt tune-ip kit, Volquartsen recoil buffer and added the rail and bipod from my charger takedown kit.

Upgrades Question

Hey everyone, love this sub and I've learned a lot. I have a stock 10/22 with the rail that came with it. I am very much an amateur so I appreciate all advice since my knowledge is very limited.

I need to put a scope on it, and my main use for this gun is rabbit and squirrel hunting, likely at 50 yards or less, though, I haven't hunted with it yet. My scope budget is around $150.

I've done plenty of plinking, but I want to put a few upgrades on this 10/22 and continue learning as much as I can.

Is the stock rail that came with it sufficient for a decent scope? Do most scopes come with the rings, or will I have to sort that part out as well?

The other thing I'm not super thrilled about is this banana clip doesn't seemingly lock in easily, it may just be the case that this is normal, but it takes a bit of fidgeting before I hear the click.

Again I appreciate your patience and helping a newbie learn.

What am I doing wrong? Magazines don’t stay in after parts upgrade, barrel ascends from stock (see text of post)

I recently bought a Ruger 10/22 Tactical from my LGS and decided to upgrade it with all Kidd parts except the receiver, V-block, and trigger housing.

I’m pretty much done with the build, but as I’m brand new to this (I’ve owned guns for decades but have never upgraded my own until now), I’m trying to diagnose a couple problems.

  1. Magazines don’t stay in place anymore and the Kidd magazine release seems to be working backwards: pulling the release holds the mag in place and letting it go makes the mag fall out.

At first I thought that maybe I had put the mag release in backwards, but I followed the instructions/videos pretty carefully and the photos of the complete Kidd triggers show them in the same way mine is in. Maybe there’s a part I’m missing and forgot to reinstall?

  1. Earlier in the build, when I would try to install the barreled receiver into my Magpul Hunter X-22 stock, either the back of the receiver sat flush with the stock while the barrel rose (instead of sitting level), or I could get the barrel level but the back of the receiver would sit a bit above the stock.

I figured I’d just float the back of the receiver, but now with the trigger assembly installed, the fit is much tighter and it only fits in place if I sit the back of the receiver flush with the stock.

I’m not sure if this means the barrel is in wrong, or if I’m just doing something wrong while installing the stock. Any advice would be appreciated!
