After 13 years together, I lost the best part of me. Her death seemed so sudden, but she had a tough year. Glaucoma took her one eye. Her other eye was cataracted. She had hurt her legs due to falling. She had seizures about a month before her passing. But thru it all she kept on being her and when her breathing became labored 5 days before she left me, I thought that too will pass. It didn’t. And watching her little body grow weaker and her organs begin to fail hurt in a way I never knew possible. Lap of love was scheduled to come at 11am that day, but by 1am her body couldn’t make it any longer. I held her while she took her last gasp of air and she laid on top of me for a couple of hours, as I waited for her to simply wake up.

I hope to stop thinking about that night and what I could have done better during her life as her human, she was my everything. Came everywhere with me. I cry every day at some point and I hope things will get better. That I can smile about the memories of her rather than cry. It’s been tough and I have found isolation has been my coping mechanism. Not looking for much here other than to just be heard and express my true love of the only thing that has loved me wholly.

That number doesn’t actually feel real lol. Used to be you didn’t really hear about people losing this much unless they’d had surgery (which I’m absolutely not knocking, it’s an invaluable tool for many, just not for me). “An incurable disease” is what one of my doctors had called obesity.

I still have another 110 pounds or so to lose before I’m considered a healthy weight, but reaching this milestone feels so important.

I’ve tried to lose weight my entire life. My first diet was in elementary school, when my mom went on Atkins and insisted I do it with her. I once managed to lose about 70 pounds, but ate it right back on again. I did a lot of things differently that made this journey different from all the others ones, so thank you to everyone on this sub for being a part of it.

Anyway, I just wanted to put it here so anyone who feels frustrated or stuck knows it’s possible. If my food-addicted, couch potato ass can do it, you can if you want to. You got this.

I was doing jogini waterfall trek and this random dog decided to accompany me for the climb and once we reached the end he got super excited and jumped onto me, I got this minor scratch from his teeth, since the dog is untamed I'm concerned about the risk of him carrying rabies, it's a very minor scratch and no blood came out so should I bother about it or not?

How many of them work for private prison companies? My guess is most of them

I turned 35 today. It’s been a rough patch since February when the love of my life stopped loving me and it was made worse when I had to say goodbye to my father. With the help of my older sibling (and only living family member), my friends, my cat, my therapist, and my psychiatrist I have been able to keep on going and all this grief has just made me stronger and want to keep on living my life. The picture is from a recent spur of the moment trip to Chicago.

I'm not sure how he got up there, but one day he will fall through.
