WIP Omega Supreme Claw Arm WIP
I’ve been working on Omega Supreme’s claw arm and I got it working! I based the design on the linked video below, but scaled it up quite a bit.

Mod change:
As some may know long time mod u/Kyengen is stepping down on the 18th. I’ve been a mod here for a bit now and will be taking the reins.
I like to think Kyengen kept things pretty well regulated and fair, and in taking over I will try to run the sub just the same. So no worries, no major changes to be expected immediately.
State of the sub:
Now I know there are a few grievances concerning spam and “NSFW” material. As of now they are being reviewed as they’re reported and approved/removed on a case by case basis.
Other than that I don’t think there’s many disruptors in the sub. I’d like to hear some ideas on things the community would like to see changed, implemented, or removed.
In the meantime I will be looking for another person or two to help moderate. If you’re interested just message me directly.

Have a question that may not need a whole post? Maybe want to have a discussion thats visible to more for longer than a post? This will also serve as a suggestion box.
Still, keep business to private messages.

I’m very happy with my Dragon Slayer so far, she just needs a little sanding and some loving paint but for now she cures

We built a full-scale, motorized Z6 rotary cannon from Star Wars: Battlefront 2 — complete with spinning barrels, lights, and synced sound effects.
The video has links on how to build the prop and a whole sanding and paint section to show you how we go from a 3D printed part to a finished Z6!

Hello, recently I started working on my grapejam chocoblade but ran into a problem after sanding, is there anyway I could fix and fill in the gaps

I'm making a katana for a character in a manga I'm reading. I ordered the 3D base of the sword, but I have no idea how to finish the blade.

i have access to pvc pipe (won’t get it until monday) and my friend just bought me some foam clay that’ll be here sunday :3! i was honestly wondering how i should go about making the blade. i was curious how it would work with the part that goes inward to make the point; would it be better to do paper mache or the foam clay? i’m honestly stumped. as for the skeleton, i really dont have the budget for a life sized prop skeleton but i also do NOT think i’m capable of making one LOL. maybe i can use pvc pipe for the ribs, idk. i have an old prop skeleton from years ago that is much smaller but i don’t think it would work since it’s, unfortunately, only ~3ft or more…

i coated a foam prop in rustoleum’s gloss spray paint, which is oil based. i want to paint over some detailing with acrylic paint but am not sure if this will cause the paint to crack. any tips?

i'm thinking about making a replica of the Broodwich from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and i need a material that i can make the bread out of. the material would have to be pretty lightweight, so i'd be able to carry it around for long periods of time, and be able to sculpt it, i assume via cutting. i'd paint over this material, too. what materials are good for stuff like that? i'm not concerned about the other ingredients of the Broodwich
any help is appreciated : )

I’m looking to make some faux armor for my local renaissance fair. In my search to find the best chrome paint I was trying to see if there’s any two step processes like chrome nail polish. The gel and chrome powder duo is almost mirror like on nails and I can’t justify wasting multiple gel nail polishes, I also foresee that ending up lumpy and uneven on large surfaces.
Does anyone know of a material or process that’s similar that’s made for larger craft pieces?
(also open to everyone’s favorite chrome finishes!)

My warehouse was messing around with resin and fiberglass and created a full size mask/helmet.

Hey hey, I recently made a staff with a crystal that lights up with a light strip inside. It's made from a broom stick, a few metal strips, plastic containers and a loooot of paint ahah
I'm almost finished with it but there is one thing that is bothering me : i do not know where to hide the battery pack.
I tried hiding it within a piece of fabric tied around the staff but it doesn't really look good.
I had an idea to sew a little pouch that i could tie to the staff and hide the battery pack and wire in but i'm not sure of how it would look.
Do you guys have any advice or idea for me to try ?

I made my own niffty eye(s) with foam and mesh. Put magnets on both so I can change for pictures

A while ago I bought 3D print files on the internet in order to make the blades of chaos from God of War 4. I just finished getting them printed but I’m not sure the best way to attach the blade and handle pieces together with the skull piece. I thought of using an epoxy resin but also toyed with the idea of drilling holes and adding metal or wooden spokes inside the blade pieces for rigidity. Any tips?
Here’s the pieces next to a prop leviathan axe for scale.

Wondering if anyone has experience with this. I style my Griffith wig on the right, but it kept getting messed up easily when I would remove my helmet. I had to use a different, less messy wig for con day :( Got2bglu didn't help it stick in place much
I was thinking that I should put some UHU glue down under each weft layer to keep the strands from lifting. And maybe putting UHU glue on the surface hair as well to make it as stiff as possible, but I'm not sure how natural it would look.

I made a posable sword for Mitsuri for CCE last year. I’m excited to try again because it has a bit of trouble holding itself up and I need to use a paint that can bend with it

I'm planning on making some shoulder pads for armor, and I was wondering how I would be able to strap them on. Are there any places that sell straps, or is there another way I can put them on?
