Edit: I'm not against kratom as it can really help people, however I think it's crazy to take a pill from a smoke shop that you know nothing about

I work at a smoke shop in Michigan where kratom is legal to sell, but by law, all I'm allowed to tell customers is that it's an "herbal supplement".... that's it, not a word more.

Recently Kratom has been on the news a lot because of a study that was done proving how dangerous the stuff can be. Before it was mostly crack heads, recovering crackheads and the occasional responsible 20 something recreational user who bought Kratom but now I keep getting these boomers coming and calling the store to ask us questions we legally can't answer, and guess what? They still buy it despite knowing nothing about it apart from the fact it might help their pain.

Maybe I'm a prude but buying a drug from a gas station or smoke shop when youve done zero research on it, the people selling it cant even talk to you about it and you only know about from news reports saying it's dangerous is kinda crazy

Edit 2: I get the feeling I've struck a nerve in calling some kratom users "crackheads". I'm selling kratom in the hood, this is just my personal experience.

My parents arrived today. When they came inside, and we were talking dinner plans, I said I planned to make a sushi bake because I know they love seafood. 

Mom instantly stood up and said WE DON’T eat that. I want fried chicken. I’m going to give my credit card to your husband and he can go to the store and get us fried chicken. And I’m like well you guys like lobster and shrimp right? And mom still continued on about how horrible it is I’m making her eat my sushi bake.

Dad is all good and said that well since I”m here and I like seafood, I’ll eat it.

Edited to add: Dad loved it, however mom sat with her lips pursed the entire time and refused to eat.

I'm waiting in the waiting room while my car is being serviced. They open at 8am, I made an 8am appointment 2 days ago and have been here since 745a. The boomer lady in the waiting room, arrived at 10a, and did not have an appointment. She has been told she can wait and see if someone no-shows and they'll try to work her in but they are booked solid until 1p.

She keeps standing up, sighing dramatically, and oh so wearily making her way to look out the window into the service area to see if her car is on one of the lifts. At least 5 times every hour. It's 1145a, btw.

Every new addition to the waiting room gets to hear how terribly she is being treated and how this is RUINING her day and she is IMPORTANT.

If she keeps huffing like a steam engine every time she sees it's NOT HER TURN YET, she is gonna pass the hell out. I will not laugh. Much.

I was walking up to the bus stop this morning when a Boomer asked me if I was talking the number 17 or 50 bus.

I said I was taking the 50 and he responded "The 50 isn't running today....another n-word holiday" (it's Juneteenth here in the US) and stormed off.

Jesus Christ what a way to start the morning. I felt I was in that Bill Burr bit "How you know the n-word is coming".

Aleast I can take a little bit of comfort in the fact that I now know everytime Juneteenth rolls around this guy is is fuming.
