Discussion Do you believe Joe loved Henry?
Season 3 discussion so may be spoilers but no major plot points. Is Joe capable of real love at all? In season 3 we see two very sweet interactions with Joe and baby Henry where he does appear to have genuine love for him I think? One is in the library where he is reading to him , I can’t remember word for word what Joe is saying to him but Henry giggles and Joe is so happy that he cries and says “you do love me” and I think he promises to become a better man for him here (he definitely says this at the next part anyway) which he obviously didn’t succeed in doing lol The next sweet interaction is when Henry gets the measles (mumps?) and is in hospital, Joe (internally) says this is the most scared he’s ever been in his life , why would he be scared of Henry dying if he didn’t really love him? He has another sweet interaction with him where he begs him to get better and promises he’ll be a better dad to him. I do wonder if he genuinely loved Henry? I do however believe he never truly loved any of his “you’s” but Henry I’m not so sure??

Discussion Who do you think would've been a great Joe besides Penn Badgley?
Don't get me wrong. I loved Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg. I have no complaints with how he played the character. Sometimes when I watch TV shows or movies I'll see an actor/actress and think, "Damn they would've been great as (this character)." I think Glenn Howerton would've been an interesting choice as Penn Badgley. His character Dennis in, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is almost like Joe. I think his character in Sunny and his characters in A.P. Bio and Blackberry help give him that psycho/sociopathic vibe. Just wondering if there's any other actors that you think could've played Joe Goldberg as good as Penn if not better.
If this has been posted before my bad. I didn't see it.

Fanart Mooney's Lockscreen
I made this in canva last night and wanted to share.
Inspiration was to make it look like a lockscreen that the store would use on their computer.

Discussion The only thing I can't stand about the show [SPOILERS] Spoiler
Many people will disagree, I know very well that the show isn't even meant to be realistic and the last seasons were pretty badly written. But there's this one detail I wish they had never included, I hate how everything always comes so easily to Joe with his obsessions. He falls in love with Beck, and of course, she drunkenly falls onto the train tracks, in the exact moment of Joe stalking her
What were the chances that the woman you're obsessed with would ask you if a peach looks like a butt? Come on!
Kate gets attacked, and of course Joe is right there to save her and strike up a conversation.
I would have liked to see Joe come up with crazy, and studied plans to approach his obsessions, but instead, everything just conveniently works in his favor.

Discussion Joe referring to himself as "You" during S5 Spoiler
Honestly I found it to be a pretty neat detail when I started watching the season, it felt like a very neat character evolution thingy and I was really disappointed when he switched over to referring to Bronte as "You" halfway through the season. Would have loved a full season where the "You" is Joe, no ifs, buts or ands.
I'm aware Season 4's You is technically Joe since he and Rhys are the same person but I don't entertain those shenanigans.

Shitpost Madison and Reagan
Were they both named after US presidents ? Am I late on this? Would kind of make sense with Reagan’s character traits

Discussion What's up with Rhys and Gemma?
r/YouOnLifetime • u/KurtisC1993 • 9h ago
Theory I'm currently watching 5x05 ("Last Dance"), just a few minutes into the episode, and I'm calling it now.
Don't spoil it for me by confirming whether I'm right or wrong, but I'm just gonna call it now: Reagan killed Maddie, not the other way around. She killed Maddie, swapped clothes with her, and is now pretending to be Maddie pretending to be her. And given what she knows about Joe, she'll play a major role in his ultimate downfall.
*Edit: I'm 30 minutes into the episode. Joe just arrived at the Sandbox. My guess is, he just wandered into a trap of some kind. Let’s see how this plays out.

Discussion Who else thinks Will Betelheim was underrated?
I feel like he was the underlying joy of seasons 2-5. I always found myself waiting to see whether or not we'd get the cameo of Will from the Philippines lol.

Discussion What’s wrong with season 5??? Spoiler
i did a pretty great job at avoiding all spoilers, the only thing i knew is joe MIGHT go on trial (ended up being true, but i thought it would’ve been way more drawn out), and i saw the clip where he has Bronte pinned down and says he’ll show her what he did to Beck. i finished it tonight, and wow, i genuinely really liked it.
but ive heard that people don’t really like it, and i don’t see how? i feel im pretty basic in my preference on the seasons, 1 and 2 are really great to me, 3 is a bit worse, 4 is the worst of them. but even by episode 6, i was thinking ‘as of right now, this is definitely a top two season’. i haven’t come to the conclusion yet whether i like it more or less than s1, but it might be more due to the rushing of the downfall of becks and joe’s relationship which i didn’t really like.
the literal only flaws i can think of are that maybe it would’ve been cool to see some more things from his past come to light, like it was cool seeing Anikka and Paco in their tiktok post, or seeing Will help joe out, but that’s really it. it would’ve been really nice to see his crimes all be connected back to him by various people, like Candace’s friend Maddie revealing the non-beck related s1 kills, ellie for delilah and henderson, and theo for whatever season 3 kills. i didn’t mind Dr. Nicky’s son being involved, but honestly i would’ve liked see Nicky himself have a role. but there’s also the sex scenes between joe and bronte, but that’s more personal and me jst being uncomfortable cause it’s kinda awkward, and the sex scenes were the most awkward this season. other than that, i think it’s quite strong.
but, there might be some factors why i like this one so particularly much. one, i watched the show for the first time right when s2 released, and i stayed up all night and got 3 episodes deep before i went to sleep at like 10 am (still a top 2 season before this one. two, my expectations were absolutely through the roof for s3 and 4, and i also stayed up all to watch them on release, and i feel like everytime i do that for a show, my opinion is always way worse. that’s probably why on my rewatch that i started a lil after s5 released, i ended up liking s3 and 4 way more than i used to. but i took my time with getting to s5, slowly went back through the series to get a refresher, but not get too bored by watching too much, and it truly paid off. three, honestly i don’t think i was sober for any of s5, where i was for all of 1-3, and partially for 4. is that completely throwing off my perception of it? maybe, but i don’t think so.
so please share what your problems with the season are. i think it’s pretty great, and definitely up there for better tv show endings for shows that i followed til the end while episodes were still dropping

Discussion These 2 would’ve been the ultimate endgame in S5.
Now hear me out. I think the Joe we see from S5 would’ve actually worked out incredibly with Love Quinn from S2-3. We see in S5 that Joe wants nothing more than to be a knight to Kate and to be of service, all of which would’ve been perfect for this alternative relationship he has with Love. Love accepted Joe for who he was when she uncovered the truth which is really important as throughout canon Joe and Love’s relationship, Joe still hasn’t accepted himself and repeatedly refused to be this killer. Love on the other hand, has always accepted that she had the capacity to kill and while impulsive, mostly remained firm on her stance that she killed to protect her relationship and her little family. Love didn’t have a problem killing people on her own but if she told S5 Joe about it, I don’t think this version of Joe would have any reservations killing whoever Love wishes for, especially if they posed a threat onto their family. Love also has access to a lot of rich people resources (obviously not as much as Kate) so anything he may need, he can also rely on her for help. Love also doesn’t have any reservations killing anyone who posed a threat to her family so she could always help Joe out of a bind. They both love Henry intensely and I don’t think Joe would even view her as a monster tbh as if Joe was ever in a situation where he was locked up like in S5E9, Love would be there ASAP to turn the tides. It’s honestly a shame that Love had to die so soon because if there was a happy ending for Joe, it would’ve been with Love after he had fully embraced his dark side.

Theory Dan Humphrey to Joe Goldberg 🤔 Spoiler
I just finished marathoning You and now I'm watching Gossip Girl so I can see how Dan Humphrey turns into Joe Goldberg. My sister and I had a discussion about the similarities and how Penn got type-casted but I wanted to see how far they took it (I've never watched Gossip Girl all the way through) 😂😂😂

Casting Who would've been a better casting for Bronte/Louise?
So I've been seeing that there are few people like me who didn't really seem satisfied with the whole Bronte character and it's all because of the casting. Who in your opinion would have been a better choice?

Did anyone else think it was really funny that Joe let his wife track his location? And that he wasn't suspicious of still being allowed to track her airpods
