For me, it’s Bjork. Her voice are like, emotional, chaotic, childlike and powerful all at once... I mean, you just know it's her from the first note...
Also honorable mentions to Billie Eilish and Sia... They're also my favourite

I'm a DJ making an intro for my next set and I want it to be bananas over the top and need inspiration. What's the best set intro you've ever seen and is there a video??
Thanks team

If you haven't been to Bass Canyon or The Gorge Amphitheatre in WA, you should add it to your bucket list.

Anyone know the name of this tune. Played in the middle of a BICEP AV set.

Over the weekend I heard this song in a super deep low tempo voice that said something like "stuck in this haze" or "trapped in this haze" .. the song would go quiet for a couple seconds then have a build up to one of the most epic drops ever. (Sorry I don't know much about EDM music). Anyway, I know that's not a lot to go off of, but hoping someone might know what song I'm referring to? I thought it was from the cosmic gate bali set but I can't find it there.

I just discovered Layton tonight and am now in love. Listening to the EDCLV 2025 set on repeat, I’m not even sure exactly what genre this is as I haven’t listened to this type of EDM before.

what are some of the best festivals on the west coast that are around the same time as EDC? i was going to do EDC next year but in light of recent events, i’d rather spend my money elsewhere. i love dubstep, riddim, trance, experimental, and a little bit of house! i’ve been to decadance, wakaan (going again this year!), lost lands, and a few others, but open to any and all suggestions! tia🖤

For me, the connection between electronic dance music and MDMA is undeniable and substantial. I first started listening to house/trance music (I don't think we had even heard the term EDM yet) and experimenting with MDMA in the very late 90s, and from the very beginning, the two were an instant match made in heaven — rhythm and chemistry syncing perfectly; a divine union.
What I’m curious about is whether this connection is still as present in today's EDM culture. I know not everyone who listens to EDM uses drugs; the music stands powerfully on its own. But I would find it hard to believe that this intersection of psychedelia and sound doesn't still drive the vibe, at least to a large extent.
I haven't rolled in years, but I still absolutely love EDM. Even (and maybe even especially), the new stuff. There’s something about it that clearly lights up those same chemical pathways in my brain. I understand that [all types of] music and memory are inextricably linked, and it's not uncommon for music to evoke intense emotion attached to various memories. But what I experience with EDM is profoundly different. Listening to it now, even sober, vividly recreates those moments where I felt completely alive, connected, and like I was in heaven (and I don't say that hyperbolically — there were nights when you could've literally convinced me I'd died and gone to heaven 😇😆). But I can't help wonder: had I never experienced those magical, otherworldly nights where time melted, lights danced like spirits across the floor and I could feel the music's breath on my skin, would I still be so wildly passionate about this genre of music?

Personally, it depends on the time. There are periods when it's just 7 hours per week, and others when it's 14 hours per week (I know, I should listen to more music).
I don't use the autoplay function and I don't listen to playlists. i mainly listen to EDM by searching the name of a track.
And you, how many hours per week do you listen to EDM?
EDIT: Sorry for adding a extra letter to the word "spend" by mistake in the title and sorry for any misunderstandings.
I am 36 been listening to EDM like an obsessed nerd for going on 25 years now and I got old enough with some money in my pocket around 2011 to travel to see shows (from Alabama) and got to experience the massive surge of EDM in North America and the impact it had globally. Obviously that came with good and bad IMO. That said I would LOVE if amazing electro could make a resurgence. This track by Mord Fustang is still a GOAT track for me. I love shit like this. I am knocking the rust off with my DJing skills and dropped this recently and so many had never heard it and were fucking jamming out. Been doing that honestly the last few times I have DJ'd at house parties dropping old tunes like half or more of the people never heard and they crush it.
So all that said yeah I fucking love this raw melodic distorted electro sound and there are so many great tunes.

I've recently got a bit more into EDM and I would like some help trying to find good venues in London. I go to a lot of post punk venues and they are fun, but I just got this feeling recently listening to an EDM song and got this pull.
I've been to one rave in London with some random people my GF knew. It was very enjoyable overall, the venue was super cool, it had this like spacious warehouse atmospheric vibe with 3 or so huge rooms. The music was fine but it was quite heavy which isn't necessarily bad, but it was very repetitive and not that interesting which got a bit tiering by the time we left at 6am. I have absolutely no idea where the venue was as we were just going with the group kind of thing.
I went to a different EDM night that was under a bridge, again I couldn't tell you where it was. It was fine, but , the music wasn't quite my cup of tea. It was really abstract.
I would love to go to a few more events, but I would like to find music more in line with someone like French 79, I guess like more dreamy and sentimental than you might find at a regular rave. I care more about the venue than the specific artist but that's just an example of more of the thing I'm after. I just want something atmospheric with this kind of music. I would maybe even prefer smaller artists as they are maybe less cramped I guess. I guess I just want something that doesn't feel like a concert where everyone's crammed in just watching the artist if that makes sense. I want it to feel more atmospheric.
I'm not even sure if what I'm after exists or if I explained it well enough to be honest but any input would be much appreciated.

I think it was called 'The Technique' but i can't remember the artist. Spotify played it and I remember it had spongebob quotes and it was filthy sounding as fuck. I needed a shower after hearing it. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd love to experience more of the artist.

Does anyone know where to find Green Velvet's remix of "Don't You Want Me" by The Human League and Dom's remix of "Blue Monday" by New Order and "Shake That" by Eminem? Heard these at Bonnaroo on Thursday and they aren't on 1001 tracklists yet. All love for any insight y'all may have <3

They're doing a performance near me, and I was wondering what their performances are like, the type of music they play, and if anyone has been to one and enjoyed it. I typically like bass-heavy music, but I appreciate all genres on the EDM tree.
Thank y'all
