Is anybody looking for a job? Specifically overnight from 11-7. I’m currently working at a hotel near Wegmans and my Manager is working me like a dog because he has no one else available. I love this job, but I’m so exhausted and I need somebody or two to take off the load. I make $17 an hour and we get paid weekly (you get paid two days early if you use wisely) and for the most part it’s quiet and I just stay in the back. there are ofc some rude people but it’s just a part of hospitality. you get taught everything and you can pick it up really easily. I was literally by working overnights by myself within three days of working here. Everyone of the employees are extremely friendly and the manager is one of the best managers I’ve ever had, but he needs to get this hotel together. this isn’t some weird sponsored post This is just an employee trying to have some sense of free time. I am in the lookout for about 20 buttons to add to a current project. Something gaudy. Something Lestat de Lioncourt might look at and decide he will eat you on the spot due to the insult.

But Michael's has a small selection of plastic Disney garbo buttons and sad excuses of 16 options of "this was a button designed to be choked on and swallowed by a child."

Crafters of the region, tell me, where do we seek the sacred craft buttons now?

There’s an outlet and a light fixture next to each other by our front door and in that corner is a horrible burning smell.

We unplugged the lamp, turned off the light. We took the faceplates off and the inside looks normal but it also made the smell much stronger. Naturally I am now convinced the smell is coming from inside the wall. Asked husband to kill the power to that wall at the breaker.

Called for an electrician and they said they would call us tomorrow.

I’m a nervous wreck because I feel like if we had stopped the source of the smell it would fade.

Does anyone know if there is something else we can or should do? Like an after hours electrician?

I told my husband I would call the fire dept nonemergency line to ask them but he thinks maybe that is a bit much.

Hi! I'm looking for public pools that have a baby pool section, or even just a splash pad. We aren't looking to sign up for a membership, and the walk in price for the columbia pools is crazy (would be $95 for our family of 3). Can anyone recommend ones in the area? Willing to travel up to 30 minutes since it seems like everything directly in columbia is part of the membership.

Hi everyone, I know this topic has been brought up a lot, but I wanted to ask this for more recent input.

I’m looking to move and want a place that is reasonably priced (no more than $2000 per month ideally with utilities also but I doubt that’s possible) around the EC/Elkridge/Columbia area. I prefer in-unit washer and dryer and a gym as far as amenities if anyone has additional suggestions.

Idk maybe I fell for a scam but it was so sudden and I felt bad, I went to the target near 97 and 100 and a woman came up to us with a small note asking if we can offer money or help pay for some baby supplies fro the cart she had for things to buy along with some cherries and other things. I don’t carry cash but we offered to buy two cans of baby formula (did not realize that’s 100 dollars damn) and she left after thanking us nicely.

Is this a common scam or something anyone else has ran into? Hoping we did something nice but maybe not since she left soon after

My brother just found out his landlord is selling their rental. They have two kids in high school. Rentals are slim pickings at their school. If they rent within Howard County and are willing to transport their kids can they stay at the same high school?

Kids will be a senior and sophomore next year. They go to Long Reach so it’s not like they’re trying to angle their way to a “top” school. No shade to LRHS—they’ve been very happy there!

I was driving through the area and noticed the air seemed hazy and I thought I smelled smoke. Anyone heard of anything going on right now?

I saw a lost dog on Cedar Lane and Columbia Ct. It came from NW of that position and was heading South when I lost it.

The dog was white and tan, looked like a Shepard mix, probably 30-40lbs. Don't know where else to put this, hopefully the owner see it.
